Does Montreal Deserve a NBA Team?
« on: September 03, 2020, 04:34:24 pm »

The province of Quebec is starting to produce NBA players. Their three NBA players, Khem Birch, Chris Boucher, and most recently Lugentz Dort (who scored 30 points in game 7 against the Houston Rockets) have made a name for themselves in the NBA. I think this is only going to continue to grow. Furthermore, there are plans for Montreal to have a CEBL team, who wants to be one of the best leagues in the world. Montreal, also one of the largest if not the largest city in Canada and the U.S. not to have an NBA team. It is important to note that there were very few NBA players in Canada when the Toronto Raptors and Vancouver Grizzlies came into the league in 1995. I think whenever NBA expansion happens again Montreal should be seriously considered as a potential NBA market.

I think there will be a round of expansion will come. However, Seattle should be first in line to fix the terrible error the league made in letting one of the best markets slip away to a flyover city.
