The Toronto Blue Jays are planning to demolish the Rogers Centre, which was built in 1989. And then build a newer, smaller stadium at the same site. The process will take five to eight years to complete. However, it might be delayed because of COVID-19.

Good points: By the end of this decade, there could be up to two MLB baseball-specific stadiums in Canada with Toronto and Montreal. The only time Canada had a baseball-specific stadium in Major League Baseball was Jarry Park Stadium, where the Montreal Expos once played at. Players are also more likely to play in Toronto with natural grass.

Bad Points: It is going to cost a lot of money to demolish the Rogers Centre. Furthermore, the Rogers Centre could be used for other sports teams like Toronto FC and the Toronto Argonauts even when the Blue Jays move on from the Rogers Centre. It is also a very historical ballpark where the Blue Jays won back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993.

This came out of the blue. I was never a fan of their stadium but it's a shame to see them take it down, seeing as it was relatively new
