NBA Player Prop Picks for Wednesday, March 22

Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 0.5 Threes

We’re siding with Antetokounmpo sinking one long-range attempt tonight. He’s no prolific three-point marksman, but he’s attempting 1.9 treys over his last eight games, and converting at a 46.7% clip.

The Spurs feature a horrendous defensive record and are massive underdogs — “massive” as in approaching +20 on point spreads. And even though they limit the volume of opponents’ three-point attempts, it’s easy to envision Antetokounmpo feeling a little more license to launch from long-range if the Bucks are dominating to the degree the odds suggest they will.

Desmond Bane Over 3.5 Assists

Bane is an improved player in his third season, including his ability and production as a facilitator. He’s averaging 4.2 assists on the season and 5.1 over the last nine while Ja Morant has been out. Morant is available tonight – whatever that actually means – which should provide the Grizzlies and the home crowd with some extra juice.

Meanwhile, Dillon Brooks (suspension) is out, potentially placing a little extra on Bane’s plate. It’s reasonable to anticipate the Grizzlies having some joy – to use a soccer phrase – against an overmatched Rockets squad. Enough joy to allow Bane to accumulate four dimes on the night.

Devin Booker Under 2.5 Threes

Booker is on a roll, averaging 33.2 points in six games since Kevin Durant sprained his ankle in pre-game warm-ups. We’re not predicting that run to be halted tonight, but we’re betting on him converting no more than two three-pointers.

Booker is more than capable from long-distance, but he’s “only” attempting 5.5 threes over the aforementioned six-game stretch. The Lakers do surrender a lot of three-point attempts, but they rank second in opponents’ three-point percentage. Meanwhile, Booker’s three-point volume and efficiency wanes on the road, so look for him to do most of his damage within the arc.
