NBA Player Props | Monday, Dec. 19

Evan Mobley Over 15.5 Points

Mobley continues to play well. He reached at least 16 points in five of his last six and is averaging 17.2 points per game over that span. That includes shooting 78.1% on 5.3 attempts from the charity stripe.

The Cavs are laying 6 against a Jazz team that’s stingy against the three-point shot. It’s reasonable to anticipate a few more looks from two-point land for Mobley if Utah does a good job closing down three-point opportunities.

Lauri Markkanen Over 2.5 Three-Pointers

The Cavs feature the game’s best defense, both per scoring average and defensive efficiency. That includes strong numbers against three-point shooters as well. We still like Markkanen to reach the Over though.

Markkanen is shooting 50% on 8.2 attempts from distance over his last nine, including finishing 3 for 6 in only 28 minutes against a similarly stout Bucks defense on Saturday.

Alperen Sengun Over 8.5 Rebounds

Sengun may not be the game’s most prolific glass-cleaner, but he’s averaging 9.2 boards over his last 11. That includes performances of 16 and 19 rebounds. The Rockets are 4-point favorites over a similarly rebuilding Spurs squad.

Keldon Johnson, the Spurs primary scorer, not only shoots 41.1% on 18.2 attempts, but he’s dealing with a back issue as well. There should be plenty of errant shots clanging off the iron for Sengun to snatch down.

Zion Williamson Over 38.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds

Williamson’s usage and production is through the roof of late. He’s averaging 28.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists over his last 12. That includes seven 30-plus-point performances.

Williamson’s reluctance to shoot threes neutralizes one of Milwaukee’s defensive strengths. Finally, don’t ignore the added motivation of a leading MVP candidate making a visit. It’s natural for a player in Zion’s shoes to want to put on a show against the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
