Lightning vs. Red Wings NHL Props: Big Odds on Kucherov, Fade Larkin

It’s a wild Wednesday in the NHL, with 14 teams in action. The Tampa Bay Lightning head to Detroit following an uninspired effort vs. Toronto last night. Look for the Bolts to bounce back in a big way.

Here are four player props from betting sites to consider for the Red Wings vs. Lightning.

Nikita Kucherov – Over 1.5 Points, Anytime Goal Scorer

Kucherov has been a beast this season, as he usually is. The veteran winger is tied for 4th in the league in points (47) and has been particularly hot in December.

Prior to last night’s game against the Leafs, the 29-year-old had registered at least one point in seven straight, including eight in his previous three games. The flashy Russian was held off the scoreboard on Tuesday as the Bolts had their five-game winning streak snapped.

Tampa Bay will now pop across the border to neighboring Detroit to face a Red Wings team that has been in the gutter lately. The Wings have now lost six straight and nine of 11. And they’ve been giving up a ton of goals along the way (14 in last three games). That is good news for Tampa and its 3rd-ranked scoring offense.

The Lightning should get right tonight after a poor 19-shot performance vs. the Leafs. Kucherov already has 14 multi-point performances on the season and has a chance to make it 15 against Detroit. He has only been held pointless in four games so far this year. In three of the four following contests, he responded with a multi-point game.

Dylan Larkin – Under 2.5 Shots, Under 0.5 Points

Like most of the Red Wings, Dylan Larkin has been struggling lately. The center got off to a blazing start this season but has registered just two points in his last seven games.

He’s minus four in his last ten contests and hasn’t been shooting the puck like he was earlier in the year. The 26-year-old has gone under 2.5 shots in three straight and seven of his last nine. It should be another tough night for the Wings, who will face an angry Tampa team that hasn’t lost two games in a row since early November.

Larkin was held without a point the last time these two met and had just two shots on goal. We’ll take the plus money on both of these props, considering how things have been going lately for the Waterford, Missouri, native.
