LaMelo Ball Player Props vs. Clippers

LaMelo Ball 21.5 Points

Ball is entering his fifth game following an 11-game absence. He’s averaging 26 points in four starts since his return, reaching at least 22 points in each contest. The Clippers own a top five defense, both in terms of points allowed and efficiency, but we like Ball’s 48.7 percent mark from the field. And his 46.7 percent clip on 11.3 attempts from three-point land.

The going will be tough on Ball, but Terry Rozier and his 20.1 shot attempts per game are listed as ‘doubtful’ for tonight’s tip. There’s enough volume to play the Over on Ball’s points.

LaMelo Ball 7.5 Assists

Ball is averaging 7.8 assists in his four games back in action, but it’s not as promising as it may seem. Not tonight at least. While Ball dished double-digit dimes on two occasions, he was held to five or fewer on two others.

The Hornets are far from stocked with playmakers to deliver alongside Ball, especially considering the Clippers’ aforementioned defense. They also shoot 44.5% as a team, 29th in the NBA. We’re going to lean Under on Ball’s helpers in tonight’s contest.

LaMelo Ball 5.5 Rebounds

To be clear, the Under on Ball’s rebounds comes with odds conservative bettors may not feel comfortable laying. Even so, it’s difficult to side with the Over when Ball is averaging 3.4 rebounds on the season. Furthermore, he only corralled six boards in one out of his last seven contests.

LaMelo Ball 3.5 Three-Pointers

If there’s something to feel confident about in regard to Ball, it’s his production from beyond the arc. Converting four attempts from distance against the Clippers won’t be easy, but volume is in Ball’s court tonight.

It’s worth reiterating Ball’s efficiency from three-point land. He’s hitting 46.7 percent on 11.3 attempts and drained at least four triples in each of his last four games. The Clippers feature a stingy three-point defense, but we expect Ball will attempt enough threes to hit the Over even if his efficiency takes a dip.
