According to his agency, Priority Sports, Kaminsky will be joining the Suns for training camp.\u00a0The 31-year-old spent last season with Serbian side Partizan Belgrade but has returned to the Suns hoping for another shot at an NBA contract.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Frank The Tank is back in Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>Congrats to <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FSKPart3?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@FSKPart3<\/a> on signing with the <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Suns?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@Suns<\/a>! \u2600\ufe0f <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JBZpd8Lchn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/JBZpd8Lchn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Priority Sports (@PrioritySports) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PrioritySports\/status\/1839335689500147742?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">September 26, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Phoenix Suns Sign Frank\u00a0Kaminsky to Training Camp Deal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Kaminsky played two-and-a-half seasons for the Suns before being waived in 2022.\u00a0 He was a member of the team that made it to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/09\/25\/phoenix-suns-nba-finals-team-where-are-they-now\/\" target=\"_self\">NBA Finals<\/a> in 2021, playing an important role in the series defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kaminfr01.html#2020-2022-sum:per_game\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kaminsky<\/a> played 95 games for the Suns, averaging 8.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists.\u00a0 In 2021-22, he was set to play an increased role, playing 20.1 minutes per game, but after nine games he suffered a knee injury which kept him out for an extended period.<\/p>\n<p>Before his absence, he recorded a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statmuse.com\/nba\/ask\/frank-kaminsky-career-high\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">career-high<\/a> 31 points against the Portland Trailblazers. He was waived in April 2022 and signed with the Atlanta Hawks in the offseason.\u00a0 At the trade deadline, he was sent to the Houston Rockets. However, he appeared in just 10 games for the team.\u00a0A move to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/03\/24\/15-euroleague-players-make-move-to-nba-2024\/\" target=\"_self\">EuroLeague<\/a> and Partizan Belgrade followed.\u00a0 In <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.euroleaguebasketball.net\/euroleague\/players\/frank-kaminsky\/012743\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">57 games<\/a> for the franchise, he averaged 8.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 points.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Could Kaminsky Make the Suns Roster?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As it stands, the Suns have one roster space available, with 14 out of 15 spots filled.\u00a0 This does not include players on two-way contracts and Exhibit 10 deals who will also join the team\u2019s training camp.\u00a0Kaminsky will compete for the final roster spot, with his attributes as a stretch big potentially of great value to new head coach <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/coaches\/budenmi99c.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Budenholzer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, the Suns had <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/n\/nurkiju01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jusuf Nurkic<\/a> and <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/eubandr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drew Eubanks<\/a> as their center depth. <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bolbo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bol Bol<\/a> and <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/duranke01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Durant<\/a> also played minutes at the five when needed. Following Eubanks&#8217; departure in free agency, they signed <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/plumlma01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mason Plumlee<\/a> as Nurkic\u2019s backup.\u00a0A three-point threat from center is crucial in Budenholzer\u2019s system, shown through <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lopezbr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brook Lopez<\/a> and <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/portibo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bobby Portis<\/a> during his time with the Bucks, and <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/horfoal01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Al Horford<\/a> when he was head coach in Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>In his first season with the Suns, Nurkic shot 24.4% from deep and is a career 28% three-point shooter. Plumlee\u2019s deep threat is non-existent. Bol Bol\u2019s ability from downtown could make him an important figure in this campaign.\u00a0This could leave the door open for Kaminsky, who is a career 34.9% shooter.
