Las Vegas Aces star <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/wnba\/players\/w\/wilsoa01w.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A&#8217;ja Wilson<\/a> became the first player in league history to score 1,000 points in a single season. Meanwhile, Indiana Fever rookie <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/wnba\/players\/c\/clarkca02w.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Caitlin Clark<\/a> shattered the WNBA&#8217;s all-time rookie scoring record.\u00a0 The WNBA record books will never be the same after this historic season, so let&#8217;s look at the new A\u2019ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark&#8217;s records.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>WNBA Stars Set New Scoring Records<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>A\u2019Ja Wilson, The Unstoppable<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last week, A\u2019ja Wilson made <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/09\/04\/stephen-currys-team-usa-gold-medal-hasnt-really-sunk-in\/\" target=\"_self\">history<\/a> as she surpassed the previous single-season scoring record of 939 points, set by <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/wnba\/players\/l\/loydje01w.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jewell Loyd<\/a> of the Seattle Storm in 2023. Wilson has been tearing up the WNBA all season long, and this record is just one of the honors she will likely take home when the season is all said and done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This season, Wilson has averaged 27 points per game, showcasing her ability to score from all areas of the court. She\u2019s also averaged 12 rebounds this season.\u00a0 Her dominance extends beyond scoring and rebounding, as she has also been a force on the defensive end. She is averaging over 2.5 blocks per game and almost two steals per game as well. Wilson already has one Defensive Player of the Year trophy and two MVP trophies. Wilson believes this record won\u2019t hold long as the WNBA season continues to expand and the talent continues to rise. For now, she is going to enjoy the honor. Wilson will also likely end the season with the highest single-season scoring average in WNBA history as well (it is now held by <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/wnba\/players\/t\/tauradi01w.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Diana Taurasi<\/a>, 25.3 points per game).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Another WNBA Record Is Broken<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Wilson has another MVP-caliber season, most of the WNBA headlines have focused on rookie Caitlin Clark.\u00a0<\/span>In her debut season, Clark not only broke the WNBA&#8217;s rookie scoring record but also set records for assists and three-pointers made by a rookie.
