Months after their shocking trade to send Mikal Bridges<\/a> to the New York Knicks<\/a>, the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> look like one of the worst teams in the NBA. Last season, the team finished with a 32-50 record, their worst since the 2017-18 campaign. Additionally, Brooklyn fired head coach Jacque Vaughn<\/a> after 54 games and finished the season with Kevin Ollie<\/a> as their interim coach. The Nets were not expected to make the playoffs next season regardless. However, after trading Bridges, it seems they have fully committed to the rebuild. And now, although training camp is less than a month away, the Nets may not be done making moves to the roster. According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post (subscription required<\/a>), the Nets are willing to trade Dennis Schroder<\/a>, Dorian Finney-Smith<\/a>, and Bojan Bogdanovic<\/a> this offseason.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the team is listening to calls on Cameron Johnson<\/a>. However, according to Lewis, the Nets have a high asking price for the forward.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Nets Reportedly Willing to Trade 3 Veterans<\/h2>\n

Dennis Schroder<\/h3>\n

The Nets acquired Schroder from the Toronto Raptors<\/a> ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline. In 29 games with the team, the guard started 25 of them. With the Nets, Schroder averaged 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6 assists. He also shot 42.4% from the field and 41.2% from the three-point line.<\/p>\n

Schroder will turn 31 years old next week and does not fit Brooklyn’s timeline. Additionally, he is entering the last year of his two-year, $25.4 million contract. However, despite this, the German native has made it clear he does not want to go anywhere<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be in Brooklyn long-term. Hopefully, that works out,\u201d he said. \u201cI want to be a veteran who shows the young people the way and how we should play and how we play as a team. I understand that the NBA is always more individual, but I want to make one team like we had in Atlanta where it was about just winning and really not [caring] who scores. And I want to bring that back to the NBA, to the Brooklyn Nets. And hopefully they see the same vision and of course still compete on the highest level, but that\u2019s going to take some time,” Schroder said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dorian Finney-Smith<\/h3>\n

Finney-Smith has spent parts of the last two seasons of his career with Brooklyn. After the Nets acquired him from the Dallas Mavericks<\/a> as part of the 2023 Kyrie Irving<\/a> blockbuster trade, Finney-Smith started 82 of his 96 games in Brooklyn. As a Net, the forward has averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 40.2% from the field. Finney-Smith has two years left on his contract, but he has a $15.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season. By that point, he will be 32 years old. A trade could make sense for both sides.<\/p>\n

Bojan Bogdanovic<\/h3>\n

The Nets acquired Bogdanovic as part of the Bridges deal. However, he is also on an expiring contract and due to earn $19 million next season. The 35-year-old can still contribute to a winning team and finished ninth in the Sixth Man of the Year voting last season. If not before the start of the season, the current Brooklyn Nets forward will likely at least be on a new team ahead of next year’s trade deadline.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
