After playing sparingly as a rookie, he quickly earned a spot in the Wizards\u2019 rotation. He appeared 62 games (7 starts) his second year and averaged 6.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He was later dealt to the Phoenix Suns last June as part of the <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bealbr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bradley Beal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> trade and put up similar, underwhelming numbers in 40 games under head coach Frank Vogel. Goodwin finished out this past season with the Memphis Grizzlies, putting up solid numbers with the absence of <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/moranja01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ja Morant<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In 17 games (12 starts), the 25-year-old averaged 10 points, eight rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. However, he did so on inefficient .349\/.311\/.633 splits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Third Exhibit 10 Contract for Lakers<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The addition of Goodwin marks the third <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/09\/02\/7-notable-nba-players-on-exhibit-10-contracts\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exhibit 10<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> contract signing for the Lakers in the last few weeks. They <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/08\/14\/lakers-add-two-young-players-to-training-camp-roster-quincy-olivari-kylor-kelley\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">previously added<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> former Baylor big man <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kelleky01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kylor Kelley<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ex-Xavier sharpshooter <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/o\/olivaqu01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quincy Olivari<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to similar deals last month. Given their non-guaranteed status, the team could&#8212;and likely will&#8212;waive them before the season starts. The silver lining, though, is the bonus they receive if they join LA\u2019s G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, and stay there for up to 60 days. If that happens, those players would be paid up to $75,000\u2014a significant boost considering <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/sports\/nba\/nba-g-league-affiliates-history-salary\/3339808\/#:~:text=How%20much%20money%20do%20G,six%20month%20season%20is%20%2440%2C500.\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the average G-Leaguer\u2019s salary of $40,500<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for what\u2019s next, the Lakers have officially filled out the <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/hoopshype.com\/lists\/what-nba-teams-should-do-with-their-open-roster-spots\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">21 slots allotted for training camp<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one small but notable change that comes with the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
