Give us opportunities to be involved in those cap tables and those conversations\u2026 especially the guys who are already searching or reaching to try to make those goals happen and get into sports ownership and team ownership.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLet&#8217;s have real conversations.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Carmelo Anthony Reveals \u2018Generational\u2019 NBA Goal<\/h2>\n<p>Unlike Hall of Fame forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/garneke01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Garnett<\/a>, Anthony may not be looking to own a team <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/03\/20\/mlb-legend-nears-deal-to-purchase-nba-franchise\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">that he was the face of<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To that point, neither the Knicks or Nuggets are for sale. However, Dolan doesn\u2019t seem like he\u2019ll be giving in anytime soon. Meanwhile, Walmart heiress Ann Kroenke has been the Nuggets\u2019 owner for nearly a decade.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, as the as the 10-time All-Star discussed the topic of league expansion, it was clear that he understood the reverence of a Seattle SuperSonics revival. If so, he may be joined by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/duranke01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Durant<\/a>, the Sonics\u2019 last lottery pick. Las Vegas may be another option for Anthony, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/paulch01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Paul<\/a> expressing a desire <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/05\/18\/nba-chris-paul-looks-make-rare-career-change-after-retirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">to join that ownership group<\/a>. Asked by Mero what it would take for him, Wade, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LeBron James<\/a> to get together and buy a team, Anthony says he\u2019s \u201copen.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>It\u2019s A Bit Complicated<\/h3>\n<p>Anthony didn\u2019t sound quite confident about the idea. For starters, they could want to pursue different paths. Furthermore, it\u2019s difficult to pool the funding.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I would love it. I would love it. That\u2019s how you create what they talk about generational&#8230; That\u2019s legacy, if we can do that.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m open&#8230; I\u2019m out there trying to raise money now. Trying to raise money with my sports fund\u2026 it\u2019s hard to raise money.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If James \u2014who has an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion \u2014was in the group, a lot of possibilities would open for Anthony. It doesn\u2019t hurt that he comes with a fleet of Brinks trucks. However, James also has plenty of influence in sports, entertainment, and business. One of the most enterprising players, past or present, he\u2019s possibly the key to Anthony\u2019s dreams.<\/p>\n<p>With that being said, Anthony has an estimated net worth of $160 million. That\u2019s not chump change by any means. Still, in the world of sports, it\u2019s not nearly enough to buy a major league team.
