Or ever.<\/p>\n<p>However, while the free agency period has cooled down, a number of shooting guards are both available and serviceable. There are a few who teams would be wise to strongly consider signing.<\/p>\n<h2>Best Shooting Guards Remaining In Free Agency<\/h2>\n<h3>Isaac Okoro<\/h3>\n<p>Currently a restricted free agent, four-year veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/o\/okorois01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isaac Okoro<\/a> is currently in a contract dispute with the Cleveland Cavaliers.<\/p>\n<p>The young defensive specialist looking to get paid upwards of $10 million annually. As a result, there\u2019s a chance that he <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/08\/13\/former-top-5-pick-expected-to-stay-with-cavs-isaac-okoro\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">could sign his qualifying offer<\/a>, becoming an unrestricted free agent next offseason. This is aided by the fact that only the Detroit Pistons have the cap space necessary to offer him to a contract that he might accept.<\/p>\n<p>The Pistons could sign Okoro if they believe in his jump shot. A sign-and-trade is another feasible option, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/stewais01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isaiah Stewart<\/a> owed $15 million annually. Such a move would fortify Cleveland\u2019s frontcourt and improve Detroit\u2019s perimeter defense.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Pistons aren\u2019t the only team that could take that route. With his two-way ability, contenders and rebuilding teams alike would find him useful.<\/p>\n<h3>Lonnie Walker IV<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/walkelo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lonnie Walker IV<\/a> has played well enough to justify his roster spot.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past two seasons, the Pennsylvania native has averaged 10.7 points per game on 37.5 percent shooting from 3 in the regular season. In big playoff moments, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/08\/20\/nba-free-agency-former-laker-lonnie-walker-iv-still-available-for-la-to-pursue\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">he\u2019s shown up<\/a>. Statistically, Walker averaging 6.2 points per game in the 2023 NBA Playoffs wasn\u2019t impressive. Factoring in his 48.3 percent shooting from the field and 38.2 percent shooting from 3 makes those numbers shine a bit more.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LONNIE WALKER TAKES OVER FOR LAKERS IN 4Q \ud83d\udd25\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tLTmwKz_zGI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, it was Walker\u2019s timely scoring and strong perimeter defense that stood out.<\/p>\n<p>A moment doesn\u2019t make a career. To that point, Walker has been inconsistent at both ends of the floor. Though he has playmaking potential, he has a rather one-dimensional impact. Yet, with his flashes and age (25), it\u2019s difficult to say that he\u2019s maxed out his potential.<\/p>\n<p>The Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards are among the rebuilding teams that could have an interest in him.<\/p>\n<h3>Talen Horton-Tucker<\/h3>\n<p><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hortota01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Talen Horton-Tucker<\/a> is undoubtedly talented, averaging at least 10 points per game in each of the last three seasons.<\/p>\n<p>At 6-foot-4 and 234 pounds, he lacks bounce and wiggle due to his bulk. Furthermore, he\u2019s a streaky jump shooter, making 29.3 percent of his 3s in his career. Yet, with his size and craftiness, Horton-Tucker is a relatively unique scorer. His herky-jerk style and scoring instincts allow him to be a spark plug off the bench. When he gets hot, he\u2019s truly a spectacle.<\/p>\n<p>Though 23 years old, there\u2019s a question of how much potential he has.
