This offseason has been one of the most interesting for the Golden State Warriors<\/a>. The team moved on from players like Chris Paul<\/a> and Dario Saric<\/a>. However, no loss impacted the Warriors more than Klay Thompson<\/a>‘s departure to join the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>. Thompson spent the first 13 years of his career in Golden State, winning four championships and being a part of a dynasty in the process. The Warriors won a championship just two years ago, but it is clear the dynasty that took over the 2010s is no more. Now, Stephen Curry<\/a> and Draymond Green<\/a> are the only players from the 2015 championship team still on the roster. It is fair to assume both players will end their careers in Golden State, but it does not appear to be a guarantee.<\/p>\n

Recently, Curry spoke about Thompson’s departure and what his career plans are. The 36-year-old revealed that, although he would like to stay with the Warriors for the rest of his career, he did not rule out ending his career elsewhere.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s tough, right? I\u2019ve always said I want to be a Warrior for life. At this stage in my career, I feel like that\u2019s possible. And you can still be a competitive, it doesn\u2019t mean you guaranteed the championship. It doesn\u2019t mean winning. Winning is always a priority, but obviously you\u2019re realistic. It doesn\u2019t mean that it\u2019s going to happen if you stay the course. You need to shake things up and keep reimagining what it looks like to evolve with what league is at right now, with where some of these talented teams are now,” Curry<\/a> said.<\/p>\n

“Let\u2019s put it this way, it\u2019s a longwinded way of saying that it if it is a situation where you\u2019re a bottom feeder and it\u2019s just because you want to stay there, I\u2019d have a hard time with that. But I don\u2019t think that\u2019s going to be the reality.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Curry<\/a> has spent his entire 15-year career with the Warriors up to this point. Furthermore, he has solidified himself as a future Hall of Famer and one of the NBA’s greatest point guards ever.<\/p>\n

Golden State Warriors Star Not Ruling Out Exit<\/h2>\n

Warriors Are Pursuing a Stephen Curry Extension<\/h3>\n

Earlier this month, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy<\/a> spoke about the team’s plans after Thompson joined the Mavericks<\/a>. Dunleavy made it clear that extending Curry<\/a>, whose contract runs through the 2025-26 season, is a big priority.<\/p>\n

Dunleavy says he\u2019d like to find extensions for Kuminga and Moody. As for Curry\u2019s extension, that\u2019s also huge a priority.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat guy can get whatever he wants\u2026 I think that stuff will get figured out and he\u2019ll be a Warrior for life.\u201d<\/p>\n
