Extending their All-Star center was clearly a priority—locking Bam up until the 2028-29 NBA season. The other major development came in Jimmy Butler‘s decision not to sign an extension. He will remain with the Heat for the remainder of his contract, reaching free agency in the 2025 summer. How this development will play out, only time will tell. Apart from Adebayo’s extension, Butler’s non-extension, and some minor re-signings, what was widely expected to be an eventful offseason for Miami has thus far been void of major activity.
