With the NBA2K25 Summer League kicking off in Vegas, this weakened. Toronto Raptors basketball is almost back. The Raptors are set to play four Summer League games this month. In Vegas, Toronto will face the Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, and the Miami Heat. The Raptors’ first game will tip off on July 13 at 8:30 PM against the Thunder.\u00a0 All four of Ja\u2019Kobe Walter<\/a>, Jonathan Mogbo<\/a>, Jamal Shead<\/a>, and Ulrich Chomche<\/a> are expected to play. It will be the first time fans can watch them in Raptors jerseys.<\/span><\/p>\n

Toronto Raptors: Vegas Summer League Preview<\/h2>\n

Sophomore standout<\/b><\/h3>\n

There was a lot of speculation over if Gradey Dick<\/a> the Raptors’\u00a02023 lottery pick<\/a> would suit up for the Summer League roster. The Raptors have kept second-year players out of Summer League most recently keeping Scottie Barnes<\/a> out of the 2022 Summer League. However, the organization has chosen to let Dick play. Dick\u2019s struggled to open up his rookie season but thanks to coach Darko Rajakovic’s special training<\/a> Dick finished the season strong. In the last 22 games of the season, Dick averaged<\/a> 12.5 points 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Summer league will provide a great chance for Dick to get on-ball reps and be a focal point on offense for the team. The Raptors might shut Dick down following the first two games if he performs well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Familiar Faces\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Dick won\u2019t be the only returning Raptor on the summer league roster. Javon Freeman-Liberty<\/a> is set to suit up in Vegas. The undrafted guard played in 22 games with the Raptors last season and spent the rest of the time with the 905 Raptors in the G-league. Freeman-Liberty is on a partially guaranteed contract and will look to earn a full roster spot following the Summer League. Ochai Agbaji<\/a> will also suit up for the Raptors summer league team. Agbaji joined the Raptors mid-season following a trade<\/a> with the Jazz. Agbaji struggled during his time with Toronto, shooting below 22 percent from three. Summer league will be a great chance for the young wing to build confidence in his shooting and get into a rhythm to start the season. DJ Carton<\/a> is the last returning player to suit up for the Raptors in Vegas. The 6\u20192 guard appeared in just four games for the Raptors last season. Carton spent the rest of the season in the G-League.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Filling out the roster<\/b><\/h3>\n

Filling out the roster alongside the returning players and the four rookies<\/a> are some new and recognizable names. At the top of that list is the former All-American Drew Timme<\/a>. The Raptors will be the second summer league team Timme will suit up for. Timme already has played two summer league games with the Sacramento Kings at the California Classic<\/a> early this week. Another name you might know is Omari Moore<\/a>, who spent last season with the 905 Raptors but never got a call-up to the main team. For new faces, fans will see <\/span>J<\/span><\/a>amison Battle<\/a>, Dylan Disu,<\/a> Joseph Girard III<\/a>, Quincy Guerrier<\/a>, and Tylor Perry<\/a>, suit up for Toronto for the first time.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
