As the Pelicans are down 0-3 to the Thunder, questions are beginning to swirl around Brandon\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Ingram\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0future with the team. Ingram is a 2025 free agent and declined an extension<\/a>\u00a0with the Pelicans before the season. Furthermore, he has not elevated his play without Zion Williamson<\/a> in the playoffs. Ingram is averaging<\/a> just 16.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 2.3 apg in the playoffs.\u00a0<\/span>This<\/span>\u00a0could\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>part<\/span>\u00a0be Ingram coming off an injury of his own. The Pelicans also have\u00a0<\/span>a plethora of<\/span>\u00a0talented young\u00a0<\/span>wings<\/span>\u00a0highlighted by Herb Jones<\/a> and Trey Murphy<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>making<\/span>\u00a0Ingram somewhat replaceable. The Pelicans desperately need a true lead guard and could target that in a possible Ingram deal. Given these factors, an off-season trade feels best for both sides.\u00a0<\/span>Let\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0dive into some\u00a0<\/span>possible<\/span>\u00a0destinations for Ingram.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4 Brandon Ingram Trade Destinations<\/h2>\n

Atlanta Hawks\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Atlanta Hawks can perhaps make the best offer for Ingram. Trae Young<\/a> and Dejounte Murray<\/a> have\u00a0<\/span>been heavily involved<\/span>\u00a0in trade rumors<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>It’s<\/span>\u00a0almost certain\u00a0<\/span>one of them will be moved<\/span>\u00a0in the off-season<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>it’s<\/span>\u00a0just a matter of which one it will be. Either guard would be a good fit with the Pelicans.\u00a0<\/span>Giving<\/span>\u00a0them a much-needed lead guard. A potential deal would be centered around swapping Ingram for Murray\/Young but would likely include role players from both sides.\u00a0<\/span>Young\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0fit as a playmaker next to Zion is very intriguing and the pairing would bring the best out of both young stars.\u00a0<\/span>Furthermore<\/span>, the Pelicans\u00a0<\/span>are filled<\/span>\u00a0with<\/span>\u00a0great defenders who can cover up for\u00a0<\/span>Young\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0deficiencies.\u00a0<\/span>Murray\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0all-around excellence makes him an ideal fit in the Pelicans system. He\u00a0<\/span>notably<\/span>\u00a0averaged<\/a> 25 ppg and 9.1 apg without Young and could reach similar production with the Pelicans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From the\u00a0<\/span>Hawks’<\/span>\u00a0side, this allows them to reset and break up an awkward backcourt pairing. Ingram could fit perfectly next to either Young or Murray.\u00a0<\/span>It\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>currently<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>very hard<\/span>\u00a0to get a read on which\u00a0<\/span>guard will be dealt<\/span>. However, Murray and Ingram are slightly closer value-wise\u00a0<\/span>making<\/span>\u00a0that swap more likely. Furthermore\u00a0<\/span>pairing<\/span>\u00a0Ingram with a more established scorer in Young is logical. Ultimately the Hawks combination of two All-Star-level tradable guards makes them the best suitor for Ingram.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kings are a talented team but\u00a0<\/span>clearly<\/span>\u00a0need an off-season to move\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>truly<\/span>\u00a0compete in the West<\/span>. Over the past year, the Kings have been linked to several wings including Pascal Siakam<\/a>, Kyle Kuzma,<\/a> and Jerami Grant<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0Sacramento has five first-round picks\u00a0<\/span>at their disposal<\/span>\u00a0and could make a big splash. While the Kings\u00a0<\/span>don\u2019t<\/span>\u00a0have\u00a0<\/span>a ton of<\/span>\u00a0win-now\u00a0<\/span>players<\/span> or tradable guards this scenario is very intriguing if the Pelicans opt to enter a\u00a0<\/span>full<\/span>\u00a0rebuild. Alternatively, a third team could get involved to give the Pelicans\u00a0<\/span>some<\/span>\u00a0more win-now talent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Basketball wise\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0Kings are an ideal fit for Ingram. He would greatly benefit from playing next to a playmaking big in Domantas Sabonis<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>Ingram\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0fit next to\u00a0<\/span>De\u2019Aaron <\/span><\/a>Fox <\/a>and young wing Keegan Murray<\/a> is also an exciting possibility. What\u00a0<\/span>we\u2019ve<\/span>\u00a0seen from Ingram over the past few years suggests\u00a0<\/span>he\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0best suited<\/span>\u00a0as an elite third option\u00a0<\/span>making<\/span>\u00a0Sacramento the perfect situation for him. From the\u00a0<\/span>Kings’<\/span>\u00a0perspective, this trade significantly moves them up the Western Conference hierarchy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Cavs’<\/span>\u00a0off-season plans are very uncertain and heavily depend on how the rest of the playoffs pan out. There are plenty of rumors around Donovan Mitchell<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0the assumption is\u00a0<\/span>he\u2019ll<\/span>\u00a0leave as a 2025 free agent<\/a>. As a result, the Cavs could look to get win-now value out of Mitchell this off-season. This possibility would allow the Cavs to balance out their roster and give them an elite wing. In addition to Ingram, the Pelicans would likely have to part with some draft capital or young talent to match\u00a0<\/span>Mitchell\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0value.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite\u00a0<\/span>Mitchell\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0optimal fit with the team, the Pelicans might be hesitant to pull the trigger on a deal\u00a0<\/span>considering<\/span>\u00a0he could still leave as a free agent. However, the Cavs could also float Darius Garland<\/a>\u00a0in exchange for Ingram. While he is far less talented than Mitchell, at\u00a0<\/span>24<\/span>\u00a0Garland has plenty of upside\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>he<\/span>\u00a0would give the Pelicans a more traditional playmaking guard. The Garland-Zion duo would be a highlight factory\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0the pairing would elevate both players’<\/span>\u00a0games. The Magic desperately need more offensive creation and floor spacing.\u00a0<\/span>This<\/span>\u00a0has been on full display during the playoffs, especially in the first two games\u00a0<\/span>where<\/span>\u00a0the Magic shot<\/a> just 23% from beyond the arc\u00a0<\/span>they<\/span>\u00a0are shooting 31% from three in the series. Orlando ranked<\/a> just 22nd in offense and 24th in three-point percentage<\/a> this season.\u00a0<\/span>Ingram\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0shot creation and solid floor spacing abilities fit\u00a0<\/span>the bill for<\/span>\u00a0what the Magic need. Additionally, Ingram fits perfectly with\u00a0<\/span>Orlando\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0versatility and length.<\/span><\/p>\n

The trio of Paolo Banchero<\/a>, Franz Wagner<\/a>, and Ingram would be one of the most lethal wing pairings in the league.\u00a0<\/span>This trade would\u00a0<\/span>give the Magic a chance<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to further accelerate their timeline<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>would<\/span>\u00a0make them a top-three team in the East.<\/span>\u00a0The Magic can only offer a rebuilding package to the Pelicans.
