With less than a week remaining, there are some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/stats\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tight league leader races<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a brief look at some of the stats that are in doubt as to who will be the league leader. Who will get the bold ink on the back of their basketball card?<\/p>\n<h2>NBA League Leader Races Going Down to the Wire<\/h2>\n<h3>Steals Per Game<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/gilgesh01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/a>, Oklahoma City Thunder 2.1<\/li>\n<li>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/f\/foxde01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">De\u2019Aaron Fox<\/a>, Sacramento Kings 2.0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An MVP candidate, Gilgeous-Alexander owns a slight lead in the battle to lead in steals. After averaging a career-high 1.6 last season, he has increased his swipes even further.<\/p>\n<p>Now in his seventh season, Fox is also getting into passing lanes more frequently. Much like Gilgeous-Alexander, Fox\u2019s career-high average in steals entering the season was 1.6.<\/p>\n<h3>Triple-Doubles<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/sabondo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Domantas Sabonis<\/a>, Sacramento Kings 26<\/li>\n<li>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jokicni01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nikola Jokic<\/a>, Denver Nuggets 25<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The favorite to win his third MVP, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/03\/12\/nikola-jokic-makes-history-again-on-monday\/\" target=\"_self\">Jokic<\/a> led the league in triple-doubles each of the last two seasons. He recorded 29 in 2022-23 and 19 in 2021-22.<\/p>\n<p>Sabonis is in the middle of a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/03\/26\/kings-linchpin-sets-post-merger-double-doubles-record-domantas-sabonis\/\" target=\"_self\">historic double-double<\/a> streak, but he\u2019s been racking up triple-doubles. Nearly half of his career triple-doubles (26 of 58) have come this season.<\/p>\n<p>Both the Kings and Nuggets have four games remaining.<\/p>\n<h3>Three-Point Percentage<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/mathega01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Garrison Matthews<\/a>, Atlanta Hawks 46.7<\/li>\n<li>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/allengr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grayson Allen<\/a>, Phoenix Suns 46.6<\/li>\n<li>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kennalu01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Luke Kennard<\/a>, Memphis Grizzlies 45.0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An extremely tight three-point accuracy race has a surprise leader. Over his first four seasons, Matthews shot 36.7% from deep, good but not great. While he\u2019s playing just 14.5 minutes per contest, 167 of Matthews\u2019 195 shot attempts have been three-point tries.<\/p>\n<p>Allen entered Sunday atop the leaderboard, but a 3-10 performance on threes Sunday dropped him just behind Matthews. Now in his sixth season, Allen\u2019s previous career-best accuracy on threes was 40.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the last two seasons has seen Kennard lead the league in three-point percentage. Unfortunately, he is listed as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/fantasy\/basketball\/news\/grizzlies-luke-kennard-will-remain-sidelined-monday\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">out for Monday<\/a>, the fourth straight game he is missing for personal reasons.<\/p>\n<h3>Free Throw Percentage<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/curryst01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stephen Curry<\/a>, Golden State Warriors 92.4<\/li>\n<li>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lillada01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Damian Lillard<\/a>, Milwaukee Bucks 92.1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A nail-biter of a race sees two of the premier scoring point guards aiming to be the most accurate free throw shooter. Curry is attempting to lead the league in free throw accuracy for the fifth time in his career.
