I felt like there was just so much left on the table where I felt like me and the young guys could go out there and help [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/curryst01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stephen Curry<\/a>], <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/t\/thompkl01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Klay [Thompson]<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/greendr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Draymond [Green]<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Jonathan Kuminga Addresses Early Season Spat with Steve Kerr<\/h2>\n<p>Alluding to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsbayarea.com\/nba\/golden-state-warriors\/what-jonathan-kuminga-told-steve-kerr-meeting\/1705809\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">one-on-one meeting<\/a> with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, in which he expressed dissatisfaction with his role, Kuminga relays that the impromptu confab \u201cwas just me trying to go out there and just find a way to play.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cFind a way to be on the floor. Find a way to help every young guy get their chance. And as you see every young guy getting a chance\u2026 We are doing the things that we were supposed to be doing. We&#8217;re not going to help every day\u2026 not going to win every day.<\/p>\n<p>But as you gain that experience, you\u2019re going out there and just helping as much as we can.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The summit <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/01\/27\/nba-rumors-warriors-wont-trade-young-star\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">worked out well<\/a> for all parties.<\/p>\n<p>Kerr has evolved into a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/03\/01\/a-warriors-tale-three-things-spurring-warriors-playoff-run\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">less rigid leader<\/a>, increasingly willing to rely on the Warriors\u2019 younger talent. Kuminga has become a Most Improved Candidate, averaging 19.3 points per game <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statmuse.com\/nba\/ask\/jonathan-kuminga-stats-since-january-27\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">since becoming a full-time starter<\/a>. The Warriors have made it back over .500 after an 18-20 start.<\/p>\n<h3>Breathing Life Into the Warriors<\/h3>\n<p>Kuminga has been a revelation for the Warriors since becoming a full-time starter.<\/p>\n<p>While winning 57.9 percent (22-16) of their games with Kuminga as a starter this season, the third-year forward only became a full-time starter on Jan. 27. Taking on LeBron James and his battalion in what became <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/boxscores\/202401270GSW.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a one-point loss<\/a>, the DR Congo native tallied 22 points and nine rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers.
