He has two 40-point games and six double-doubles in 34 games.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old guard scored 11 points in his lone Rising Star game during All-Star weekend. It wasn&#8217;t just Williams scoring that caught the attention of the Heat&#8217;s brass during the Rising Star Challenge, but his overall game and motor, Winderman said.<\/p>\n<p>Winderman also speculated that Williams could have his contract converted to a standard deal if they waived <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/smithdr01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-02-18_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Dru Smith.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Smith is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing reconstructive knee surgery. The 26-year-old guard averaged 4.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting .455\/.412\/1.000. Smith&#8217;s, who has 24 games of NBA experience, $2.12 million salary for next season is non-guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>It really doesn&#8217;t make sense for the Heat to conver Williams&#8217; contract, unless they are sold that Smith is not part of their future. The Heat have 15 players under contract with the signing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/wrighde01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Delon Wright,<\/strong><\/a> and Wright fills the void for the Heat of a true backup point guard.<\/p>\n<h3>Delon Wright Officially Joins Heat<\/h3>\n<p>Wright had agreed to join the Heat after working out a buyout from the Washington Wizards on Friday, but the deal wasn&#8217;t finalized until last night. However, he spurned other teams by announcing that his attention was to sign with the Heat following his release from the Wizards.<\/p>\n<p>Wright is one of the preeminant backup point guards in the league. He averaged 4.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting .393\/.368\/.828.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that Wright chose to sign with the Heat because he was promised minutes. He could start at point guard until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/roziete01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Terry Rozier<\/strong> <\/a>can return from his knee injury. Rozier is considered week-to-week. And he\u2019s played so well on both sides of the floor.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since Dec. 1, Henderson has averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 assists,\u00a0 and 2.8 turnovers while shooting .384\/.341\/.835.<\/p>\n<h3>LeBron James Wants To Remain With Lakers<\/h3>\n<p>Despite rumors circulating that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>LeBron James<\/strong><\/a> may opt-out of the $51.4 million player option this summer and sign with the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks or Sacramento Kings. The 39-year-old recently told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/39554499\/lebron-james-says-hopes-end-career-member-lakers\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESPN&#8217;s Dave McMenamin<\/a> that he plans on finishing his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, though he doesn&#8217;t know how much longer he will play.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI<em> am a Laker and I\u2019m happy and been very happy being Laker the last six years and hopefully it stays that way.<\/em> <em>But I don\u2019t have the answer to how long it is or which uniform I\u2019ll be in.
