He has also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Cleveland Cavaliers.<\/p>\n<p>Diakite appeared in 22 games for the Cavaliers last season, including two starts. It was the most action that Diakite has seen in his career, though he only averaged eight minutes a game. He averaged 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks while producing a shooting slash line of .480\/.333\/1.000 in 2022-23.<\/p>\n<p>Diakite became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. After being unable to find an NBA team, the 26-year-old joined Israeli second-tier club Maccabi Ra&#8217;anana, hoping to get another NBA opportunity, as the Israeli second-tier club played three NBA exhibition games.<\/p>\n<p>Diakite compiled 36 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks over 60 minutes in three 2023-24 preseason games with Maccabi Ra&#8217;anana. He made 12 of 27 (44.4%) shots from the field, including 5 of 13 (38.5%) from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n<p>Diakite was impressive enough to earn an Exhibit 10 contract from the New York Knicks. Two days after signing with the Knicks, Diakate was waived, although he was allocated to the G-League Westchester Knicks as an affiliate player. He produced two double-doubles and averaged 8.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over 22.5 minutes in 19 appearances.<\/p>\n<p>The Spurs had an open two-way spot after releasing rookie center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bediach01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-12-29_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Charles Bediako<\/strong><\/a>, who tore his left meniscus and was projected to be sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Former San Antonio Spurs center Charles Bediako suffered a torn left meniscus and will miss 6-8 weeks, per his agent Daniel Green of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GreenSportsMgmt?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@GreenSportsMgmt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a related move the Spurs waived Bediako from his Two-Way contract today.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChrisBHaynes\/status\/1740853374030152013?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">December 29, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Diakate is likely to spend most of his time in Austin. However, as the season progresses, he may get some NBA minutes. Diakate has also played for Oklahoma City and Milwaukee, where he played in seven postseason games during the Bucks&#8217; 2021 NBA championship run.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0Joel Embiid and De&#8217;Anthony Melton<\/h3>\n<p>The Philadelphia 76ers (24-10) host the Chicago Bulls (15-19) on Tuesday, looking to salvage the final game of their three-game series. The 76ers had their two-game winning streak snapped by the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2023\/08\/20\/nba-rumors-bulls-productive-offseason-heat-not-interested-in-top-free-agent\/\" target=\"_self\"> Bulls<\/a> (105-92) the last time out in Chicago. But the Sixers will have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/embiijo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Joel Embiid<\/strong><\/a> this go around after a four-game absence, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">As expected, Joel Embiid will play tomorrow night against the Chicago Bulls. But Melton was hampered by back issues all last season, though he sat out just five games.\u00a0 With Melton out, it opens a spot in the starting lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Nick Nurse does have plenty of options, with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/morrima03.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Morris Sr<\/a>,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/covinro01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Robert Covington<\/strong><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/batumni01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Nic Batum<\/strong> <\/a>being the most likely to receive the starting nod.<\/p>\n<h3>Chicago Bulls<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2023\/05\/18\/nba-rumors-chicago-bulls-open-to-moving-on-from-two-of-their-priciest-players\/\" target=\"_self\">Chicago<\/a> has won four of the last six meetings against Philadelphia. Craig is weeks away from returning. Meanwhile, LaVine and Vucevic could return soon.<\/p>\n<p>LaVine has been assigned to the Windy City Bulls of the G-League to see how the foot responds. A big reason for the Bulls&#8217; success over this stretch has been the play of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/derozde01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong> DeMar DeRozan<\/strong> <\/a>and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/whiteco01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong> Coby White<\/strong><\/a>.
