One name at the top of nearly every team\u2019s wish list is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lavinza01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Zach LaVine<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. However, a new report claims that the Bulls star and his camp are interested in a move to the Los Angeles Lakers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>NBA Rumors: Zach LaVine&#8217;s Camp Interested in Trade to the Lakers<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Background<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/bulls\/2023\/12\/13\/24000496\/friday-opens-trading-still-no-market-for-bulls-zach-lavine\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> came from Chicago Sun-Times writer Joe Cowley, who also noted that the Bulls haven\u2019t found a market for LaVine yet. Despite that, Bulls Vice President Arturas Karnisovas isn\u2019t concerned about the issue, but that could change if the situation lingers on.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c&#8230;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if moving LaVine drags on longer than he hopes, his plans would be altered significantly. With the rest of the players who signed offseason deals eligible to be dealt after Jan. 15, Karnisovas ideally will have moved LaVine by or around that date, giving him at least 10 to 15 games to see what the post-LaVine Bulls look like and allowing him to make decisions on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/derozde01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>DeMar DeRozan<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/carusal01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Alex Caruso<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest rumors from Chicago coincide with recent reports that the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2023\/12\/11\/lakers-hesitant-make-moves-trade-deadline\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lakers are hesitant to make moves at the deadline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, opting to evaluate the team <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2023\/12\/11\/lakers-news-gabe-vincent-eyeing-return-next-week\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">once they get to full strength<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hoopshype.com\/lists\/top-nba-trade-candidates-eligible-december-15-for-2023-24-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">noted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the purple and gold are also not actively shopping <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/russeda01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>D\u2019Angelo Russell<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who would be the main piece in any deal for LaVine. Scotto added that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hachiru01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Rui Hachimura<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/woodch01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Christian Wood<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/v\/vincega01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Gabe Vincent<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> could also be on the trading block.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Do the Lakers Need Zach LaVine?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lakers now stand at 15-10 (5th in the West) after a 122-119 win over the Spurs Wednesday night. There\u2019s been no shortage of commentary connecting them to LaVine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HoopsHype contributor Yossi Gozlan said that the Lakers make sense for LaVine at this point, which comes a month after the initial report that LaVine was open to a trade:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So the question is, how much is Chicago going to require from the Lakers or any other team to trade him? If they\u2019re not getting the type of value they want, are they comfortable just getting off that money and maybe taking just a little bit of value?<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scotto added that the Lakers would need to \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decide if having LaVine as the clear third guy at his salary is worth it, or do you try to do it more by committee like they did last year?<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lakers are close to getting their whole team healthy for the first time this season. It makes sense for Rob Pelinka and co. to evaluate the roster as trade season nears. If the team keeps their current trajectory going, they may not even consider a LaVine trade once February rolls around. The two star formula did wonders for them years ago, so why not stick to it now?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Athletic\u2019s Darnell Mayberry also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/5127732\/2023\/12\/11\/lakers-bulls-trade-partners\/?source=emp_shared_article\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">warned<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the Lakers wouldn\u2019t be as great of a fit as they seem:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wouldn\u2019t call LaVine a perfect fit in L.A. That was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/nba\/player\/buddy-hield-AD3NeTjxgBd5qvz0\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buddy Hield<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/nba\/team\/lakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lakers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fumbled that deal. LaVine sounds ideal next to LeBron because he can shoot. But put LaVine on the Lakers, stash him in the corner and see how that goes. What we might think is good for LaVine and what LaVine might want for LaVine could be vastly different.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><b>The Last Word<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The LaVine sweepstakes could very well continue up until the trade deadline, and his trade market will make itself known in due time. The Lakers are right to hold off on potential moves, as they begin to see their hard work come to fruition with a healthy roster.
