However, there are several teams that have their sights on the two-time All Star and 2021 NBA champion.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>NBA Rumors: Four Teams That Could Trade for Jrue Holiday<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Background<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holiday finished this past season averaging 19.3 points and 7.4 assists per game on .479\/.384\/.859 splits. He ends his time in Milwaukee with a statline of 18.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.5 steals on 49% shooting from the field. It\u2019s an impressive mark for the dynamic two-way player who seamlessly orchestrated the offense next to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/antetgi01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entering his 15th season at 33 years old, Holiday shows no signs of slowing down. He is a playoff-caliber point guard who can help any contender and elevate their facilitator spot. Having previous experience as both a starter and backup helps immensely, showing his worth as an overall team player.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Teams That Could Trade for Holiday<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portland is wasting no time attempting to move Holiday, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wojespn\/status\/1707097881604403330\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">engaging in trade talks surrounding him<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and his $36 million salary. Here are four teams who could trade for the veteran guard.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Boston Celtics<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With an uncertain point guard situation, Boston could use Holiday\u2019s experience and skill set. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/celtics\/top-stories\/details-of-why-malcolm-brogdons-upset-with-celtics-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The recent reports around Malcolm Brogdon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> add fuel to the fire of a potential deal. If the Celtics are interested in trading for Holiday, they could package Brogdon\u2019s expiring $22.5 million contract with other players and picks to get a deal done.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Because Boston is now under the second apron, they are unable to take more money than what they send out. That means they\u2019d have to match Holiday\u2019s salary in any potential trade. As such, packaging Brogdon with say, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/horfoal01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Al Horford<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/pritcpa01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Payton Pritchard<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, would make a successful trade salary-wise. But, having a deal like this\u2014where the Heat wouldn\u2019t have to throw in the kitchen sink\u2014could be a better option. Miami could move on from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lowryky01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Kyle Lowry<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a package for Holiday. They\u2019re in the same boat as Boston as a second apron team, but could make something work if they really want to upgrade at point guard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lowry is 37 years old and coming off of a solid season. He averaged 11.2 points and 5.1 assists per game in 55 contests. If his best days are behind him, backing up a young talent in Henderson and serving as a veteran presence in Portland would do him good. Holiday, as mentioned earlier, is still good enough to play for a contender, and making the move to Miami would be a prime opportunity. It\u2019s also a consolation for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/butleji01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jimmy Butler<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/adebaba01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bam Adebayo<\/strong><\/a>, who still get a standout point guard\u2014just not the one they were expecting.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Philadelphia 76ers<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A third contender to watch in the Holiday sweepstakes is the team that drafted him, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KyleNeubeck\/status\/1707108324326441002?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">according to Sixers reporter Kyle Neubeck<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Philadelphia took Holiday with the 17th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and he developed into a reliable starting guard in the four seasons he spent there. Though the Sixers are still in the midst of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hardeja01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>James Harden<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> debacle, they could trade for Holiday by moving on from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/harrito02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Tobias Harris<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Harris\u2019s name has spread in trade circles for the past few seasons. Given his subpar play attached to his $39 million expiring contract, this is the perfect chance for Philly to move him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether a Holiday trade could kick the tires on a Harden deal is another story. However, it could reopen the door for that as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Chicago Bulls<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, the Chicago Bulls&#8212;a Play-in team on the rise&#8212;could be a team in need of Holiday\u2019s services. Holiday is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/bulls\/2022\/4\/20\/23034646\/bulls-demar-derozan-childhood-rival-jrue-holiday-too-well\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">childhood friends<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/derozde01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>DeMar DeRozan<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with the two being LA natives. He would also provide stability for the Bulls\u2019 point guard troubles, acting as a replacement for the injured <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/balllo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Lonzo Ball<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and elevating the team\u2019s offense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chicago has the assets to match Holiday\u2019s salary, namely Ball ($20 million) and two of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/contracts\/CHI.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Alex Caruso<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ($9.6 million), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dosunay01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Ayo Dosunmu<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ($6.4 million) or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/carteje01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Jevon Carter<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ($6.1 million). Holiday would be an ideal fit in Chicago\u2019s starting lineup next to DeRozan, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lavinza01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Zach LaVine<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/v\/vucevni01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Nikola Vucevic<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. With the Bulls eager to improve off of their ninth-place finish from last season, a win-now trade for Holiday might be the answer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Last Word<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following Holiday\u2019s move to Portland, he is expected to garner interest from several teams, and rightfully so. He can continue his career on a contender or help a Play-in team become one.
