This was the Lakers&#8217; third win in the Summer League giving them a 3-2 record. Despite missing out on the tournament, this win was a great way to end their Summer League stint in Vegas.<\/p>\n<h2 data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"c73f7548-30aa-40e6-b40d-e297efcf5c5b\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Lakers Leave Vegas with a Win<\/h2>\n<h2>Lakers Game Review<\/h2>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"9e7cd8ba-6f8a-4383-a386-bd0508c1cc85\">Neither <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/chrisma02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Max Christie<\/strong><\/a> nor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hoodsja01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jalen Hood Schifino<\/strong><\/a> were available for the team&#8217;s final game of the Las Vegas Summer League. Both players have been essential to the young Lakers&#8217; success this summer. Despite their absence, the Lakers were able to clinch a hard-fought victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, a testament to their resiliency and team commodity. Hodge may not be a potential all-star, but he proved his worth in the game as he scored 23 points and knocked down 7 out of 11 from three point range. Over the course of the past two seasons, he has gone from 29.9% to 40%. He is someone to keep an eye on if he continues to develop his skills.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"document-heading\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"c4e2a48b-aeb8-4d16-9ec6-8bfa73560fca\">Cole Swider Continues to Stand Out<\/h2>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"990abcd4-e3ea-42c1-a77c-070ffdddd9c2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/swideco01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cole Swider<\/strong><\/a> has arguably proven he deserves a bigger role with the Los Angeles Lakers. This is after a split season with the South Bay Lakers in the G-League and the Lakers in the NBA. He scored 21 points in the Lakers&#8217; victory against the Clippers and nailed the game-winning free throw. There is no doubt that Swider has the ability to play in the NBA but the Lakers will need to decide if they have enough space on their roster to sign him. It will be a tough decision, as Swider has certainly proven himself <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2023\/07\/07\/nba-rumors-los-angeles-lakers-linked-to-christian-wood\/\" target=\"_self\">worthy of an NBA contract.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"document-heading\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"2ed98387-462b-4373-af5f-2d83de2ec0a2\">L.J. Figueroa Stays Hot<\/h2>\n<p class=\"pb-2\" data-private=\"redact\" data-wt-guid=\"a67cec4b-0d02-4208-bec2-8fd94b3ad7a3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?hint=&amp;search=L.+J.+Figueroa&amp;pid=&amp;idx=\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>L. J. Figueroa<\/strong><\/a> continued his dominant performance vs the Clippers scoring 23 points off the bench in 23 minutes. Figueroa is an underrated player but has been making a name for himself this summer. The 25-year-old is older than most but could still have a chance of making it to the big leagues.
