Brook Lopez’s<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0contract is up, and he is coming off one of his better seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. The success of Lopez helped the Bucks finish with the Number 1 Seed in the\u00a0<\/span>Eastern Conference<\/span><\/a>. With big moves happening, Brook brings a lot to a championship team.<\/span><\/p>\n While not much of a defender in his early years, Brook is currently one of the best defensive anchors in the NBA. Lopez\u00a0<\/span>was tied for second in block shots per game at 2.5, only trailing Jaren Jackson Jr. for the top spot<\/span><\/a>. Additionally, he contended for a Defensive Player of the Year Award.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Outside of his individual successes on defense, the\u00a0<\/span>Bucks finished 4th in Defensive Efficiency<\/span><\/a>\u00a0due to Brook’s rim protection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With defense being a need for contending teams, Lopez helps stops threats like\u00a0<\/span>Nikola Jokic<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>because of his size.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a league where big men shoot threes, Brook Lopez is one of the best. Lopez shot\u00a0<\/span>37.4%<\/span>\u00a0from three. While playing with\u00a0<\/span>Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for the last couple of years, Brook shot threes. He alleviated clogged spacing for the slashing superstar. Therefore, his drop into the paint makes it difficult for him to close out to shooting big men and prevent three-point shooting. Additionally, on the perimeter, he struggles as he does not have quick feet. While he played very well in the last few seasons, there is a potential fear of longevity and his ability to play well for a long time.
