It\u2019s disappointing that <\/span>Dillon Brooks<\/b><\/a>\u2019 trash talk and dubious shot selection have overshadowed his story. Brooks was the <\/span>45th pick in the 2017 draft<\/span><\/a>; a player selected at that pick is as likely to play in the G-League as in the NBA. Instead, Brooks played all 82 games his rookie season. He went on to <\/span>sign a $35 million contract<\/span><\/a> and earn <\/span>All-Defensive team votes<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the upcoming free agent\u2019s time with the <\/span>Memphis Grizzlies<\/span><\/a> has come to an end. In his exit interview, <\/span>GM Zach Kleiman told the media<\/span><\/a>, \u201c<\/span>I’ll hit on (Brooks) another day\u2026Nothing I can comment on for now with him going into free agency.\u201d Kleiman also addressed Memphis\u2019 series loss to the <\/span>Los Angeles Lakers<\/span><\/a> by saying, \u201c<\/span>I think there were certainly self-created distractions we were navigating in this series.<\/span><\/a>\u201d Shams Charania provided clarification on May 2nd:<\/span><\/p>\n

The Memphis Grizzlies have informed pending free agent Dillon Brooks that he will not be brought back under any circumstances, league sources say.<\/p>\n
