The best NBA players lead their teams to win the most games and championships. That isn\u2019t complex analysis, but it\u2019s objectively true. Ranking the best NBA players going into a season is essential in determining which teams are the favorites. It also forces one to think about the league\u2019s superstars in agonizing detail. The difference between the best player and the 20th is obvious, but what about the difference between nos. 15 and 16?<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve attempted to figure out who the best NBA players are going into the <\/span>2022-2023 season<\/span><\/a>. LWOS has conducted a staffwide survey, and we will be releasing profiles of the 20 best NBA players leading up to opening night on Tuesday, Oct. 18th.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Best NBA Players Heading Into Opening Night<\/span><\/h3>\n

The NBA has as much high-end talent right now as any point in league history. <\/span>Stephen Curry<\/b><\/a> won Finals MVP<\/span><\/a> and had the best postseason of his career. <\/span>MVPs<\/span><\/a> Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Nikola Joki\u0107<\/b><\/a> are in their prime. Young up-and-comers like <\/span>Luka Don\u010di\u0107<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>Ja Morant<\/b><\/a>, and <\/span>Jayson Tatum<\/b><\/a> are coming off their best <\/span>team postseason performances<\/span><\/a> and must be eager to experience more winning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kawhi Leonard<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Damian Lillard<\/b><\/a> should be fully healthy and ready to prove (or improve) their rankings. <\/span>Jimmy Butler<\/b><\/a> established himself as one of the best playoff performers in the NBA; did that translate to our rankings? Did aging but effective guards <\/span>Chris Paul<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>James Harden<\/b><\/a> make the list? Who\u2019s higher, <\/span>LeBron James<\/b><\/a> or <\/span>Kevin Durant<\/b><\/a>? And what did we do with <\/span>Kyrie Irving<\/b><\/a>?<\/span><\/p>\n
