With that, we have more NBA predictions. Last night, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/antetgi01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a><\/strong> and the Milwaukee Bucks rolled the Brooklyn Nets while <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/curryst01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stephen Curry<\/a><\/strong> and the Golden State Warriors upset the Los Angeles Lakers. If this is any indication, the NBA season ahead will be <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2021\/10\/19\/predictions-nba-on-tnt-opening-night\/\" target=\"_self\">exciting and unpredictable<\/a> as always, with Boston Celtics\/New York Knicks opening the night on ESPN and Denver Nuggets\/Phoenix Suns ending the night on ESPN.<\/p>\n<h2>NBA Predictions: October 20 Matchups &#8211; Part 1<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Chicago Bulls at Detroit Pistons NBA\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread: Pistons +5, O\/U 220<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new-look Chicago Bulls open up their season in Detroit against a young Pistons team. Unfortunately, rookie <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/cunnica01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cade Cunningham<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s debut game is delayed as he is dealing with an ankle injury. This is a game the Bulls should win. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lavinza01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach Lavine<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/v\/vucevni01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nikola Vucevic<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/derozde01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DeMar DeRozan<\/a><\/strong> make up one of the deadliest three-man offensive combinations in the league. Most of the Bulls&#8217; problems will be on the defensive end, although they have defensive playmakers in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/balllo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lonzo Ball<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/willipa01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Patrick Williams<\/strong><\/a>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/carusal01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Caruso<\/a><\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/grantje01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jerami Grant<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/stewais01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isaiah Stewart<\/a><\/strong> should be able to score at the rim at will, but the Pistons don\u2019t have enough offensive firepower to keep up with the Bulls in this game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Final Score: Bulls 119, Pistons 110<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Indiana Pacers at Charlotte Hornets\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread: Hornets -2, O\/U 224<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This game is a rematch of the first Eastern Conference play-in game last year, where the Pacers won 144-117. Charlotte surprisingly hung in the playoff race last year, mostly due to the play of guards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/ballla01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>LaMelo<\/strong> <strong>Ball<\/strong><\/a> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/roziete01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Terry Rozier<\/a><\/strong>. This Hornets team is looking to push the pace early and often, and the return of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/haywago01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gordon Hayward<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0will give them some half-court scoring. Indiana is already dealing with a laundry list of injuries. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/warretj01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TJ Warren<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/leverca01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Caris LeVert<\/a><\/strong> are out and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/brogdma01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Malcolm Brogdon<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lambje01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeremy Lamb<\/a><\/strong>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/holidju01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Justin Holiday<\/strong><\/a> are all game-time decisions. This will likely be a close game, but I like Charlotte to get it done on their home court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Score: Pacers 106, Hornets 111<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Washington Wizards at Toronto Raptors\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread: Raptors -2.5, O\/U 218<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Raptors are back in Toronto for the first time since COVID shut down the league. Both teams will be missing their starting power forwards, as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/siakapa01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pascal Siakam<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hachiru01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rui Hachimura<\/a><\/strong> are both out. Washington is flying under the radar a bit this year. They have <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bealbr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bradley Beal<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dinwisp01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spencer Dinwiddie<\/a><\/strong>, and some solid role players. Toronto is looking to make its way back into the playoffs after missing last year. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/v\/vanvlfr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fred VanVleet<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/anunoog01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OG Anunoby<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dragigo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Goran Dragic<\/a><\/strong> will need to carry the offensive load tonight. These are two pretty even teams, but Toronto\u2019s homecourt boost will give them this game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Score: Wizards 104, Raptors 107<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Boston Celtics at New York Knicks\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread: Knicks -2, O\/U 218.5<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The early ESPN game is a matchup of two teams that had opposite previous years. The Celtics largely disappointed, as they went out to the Nets in five games. Playoff basketball returned to the Garden for the first time since 2013, even though the Knicks bowed out to Atlanta in five games also. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/brownja02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jaylen Brown<\/a><\/strong> is questionable in this game due to a positive COVID test during the preseason. Both sides have new starting point guards, as Boston signed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/schrode01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dennis Schroder<\/a><\/strong> and New York signed former Celtic <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/walkeke02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kemba Walker<\/a><\/strong>. Walker and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/f\/fournev01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evan Fournier<\/a><\/strong> give the Knicks an offensive boost, but the Celtics are the better team here, especially if Brown plays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Score: Celtics 106, Knicks 98<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Cleveland Cavaliers at Memphis Grizzlies\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread: Grizzlies -7.5, O\/U 216.5\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Memphis is looking to make the jump from fringe playoff team to the Western Conference elite. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/brookdi01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dillon Brooks<\/a><\/strong> is out, but <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/moranja01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ja Morant<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jacksja02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jaren Jackson Jr<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0form one of the best young duos in the league. The Grizzlies are a team of tough, young guys that are looking to make the leap. Don\u2019t count out the Cavs though. The backcourt of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/sextoco01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Collin Sexton<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/garlada01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Darius Garland<\/a><\/strong> can score in bunches. Rookie <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/mobleev01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evan Mobley<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/allenja01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jarrett Allen<\/a><\/strong> will man the frontcourt. This game will be closer than the spread would indicate, as the Cavs should be able to hang in there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Final Score: Cavaliers 97, Grizzlies 102<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Houston Rockets at Minnesota Timberwolves<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spread: Timberwolves -5.5, O\/U 227.5<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are entering the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/greenja05.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jalen Green<\/a><\/strong> era in Houston. He is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year, as he should have the ball in his hands a lot this season. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/porteke02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Porter Jr<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/woodch01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christian Wood<\/a><\/strong> are exciting young players for Houston, but this roster is a few years away from competing, and they\u2019re fine with that. The Timberwolves have struggled since making the playoffs in 2017, but they should contend for a play-in spot this season. This roster has good players on it. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/t\/townska01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a><\/strong> is a star, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/russeda01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">D\u2019Angelo Russell<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/edwaran01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Edwards<\/a><\/strong> can fill it up.
