Jeff Green<\/a><\/strong> signed with the Denver Nuggets Tuesday evening. The two sides agreed to a two-year contract worth $10 million. This contract ties him down through the 2023 season.<\/p>\r\n

Jeff Green Signs with the Denver Nuggets<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

One of the NBA’s favorite journeymen has signed another team-friendly deal. This time he’ll be headed to the Mile High city. The 2007 Big East Player of the Year has enjoyed a well-traveled career. He’s developed into one of the best glue guys in the league. This will be Green’s sixth team in as many seasons, but he just seems to mesh anywhere he lands. After linking up with LeBron James<\/a><\/strong> during his last Finals run in Cleveland, Uncle Jeff has remained on every title contender’s radar.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In 2020, he signed with Houston and was detrimental to their ambitious, short-lived small ball run. At 6-feet, 8-inches, Green was often the final wall of defense for the Rockets. His floor-spacing ability was vital. Last season, he reunited with Kevin Durant<\/a><\/strong> and James Harden<\/a><\/strong> in Brooklyn and gave us one of the best playoff performances from a role player we’ve ever seen. With the series tied at 2-2, the Nets couldn’t go back to Milwaukee down 3-2, and Green rose to the occasion<\/a>. After missing the first three games of the series, Uncle Jeff buried seven of eight threes en route to scoring 27 points and helping Brooklyn gain a 3-2 series lead.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What the Green signing means for the future<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Uncle Jeff’s signing may mean little to Denver beyond 2023. Right now, however, it will give Denver a veteran with playoff experience, something they really lacked last season. Injuries to Jamal Murray<\/a><\/strong>, Will Barton<\/a><\/strong>, and P.J. Dozier<\/strong> left the Nuggets with a thin rotation, and having glue guys like Green around will only bolster things.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Green should mesh well here, just as he has everywhere else. He’s a good floor spacer and a versatile defender, and the type of signing that can put a contending team over the top.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
