Over his 12-year career, he has won three titles with the Warriors and took home two MVP awards. The Warriors superstar point guard forever changed the game of basketball with his insane shooting ability.

Curry had one of the best individual seasons in his career, but the Warriors weren’t able to make the playoffs after losing both play-in games. He averaged a career-high 32 points and 5.3 three-pointers made per game last season. With a potentially healthier and improved supporting cast, Curry looks to win his fourth NBA title next season.

The Future of the Warriors

The biggest wildcard for the Warriors next season will be Klay Thompson. He has missed the last two seasons due to an ACL injury and an Achilles injury. Thompson’s health and performance will be a major deciding factor as to how far the Warriors can go next season. His absence has shown that he’s an irreplaceable player for the Warriors. Curry will certainly be happy to get his backcourt partner back. Other supporting cast members in Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins will continue to play a huge part for the Warriors as well.

The question is what Golden State intends to do with their younger players. As of now, they will likely keep some of their young players such as James Wiseman and their two lottery picks in Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody. It’s looking unlikely that the Warriors will keep Kelly Oubre and Eric Paschall. Furthermore, will a young supporting cast, the Warriors will need to find some more veteran players this offseason to bolster their roster. So far, the Warriors are off to a good start as they have managed to bring in Otto Porter and Nemanja Bjelica who are both excellent shooters. Kent Bazemore on the other hand has left Golden State for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Curry has decided to sit out this year’s Olympics to rest after a strong individual season in 2021. It’s imperative for the Warriors to have him healthy given his long history of injuries. The game of basketball is so much better when the stars are healthy, especially after a season where many star players got hurt.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Stephen Curry has agreed on a contract extension with the Golden State Warriors.
