His deal is worth four years and $85 million.<\/p>\n<h2>Fred VanVleet Signs with the Toronto Raptors<\/h2>\n<p>The Raptors have re-signed with VanVleet, which was first reported by Shams Charania. In the 2019-20 NBA season, he averaged 17.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. These are all career-highs for VanVleet. He also owned an impressive defensive rating of 104.3 according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/stats\/players\/defense\/?sort=DEF_RATING&amp;dir=-1\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NBA.com.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is great news for the Raptors. VanVleet was the Raptors\u2019 first priority in free agency according to Andrew Tysiak of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nextsportstar.com\/sports-2\/nba\/re-signing-fred-vanvleet-is-top-priority-for-the-raptors\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Next Sports Star<\/a>.<\/em> However, it is important to note that there is a player option in the fourth year of VanVleet\u2019s contract.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">VanVleet&#39;s contract includes a player option in the fourth season, sources said. It is quite possible that VanVleet could be an NBA All-Star in the next four years. This is what six-time NBA All-Star point guard <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lowryky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyle Lowry<\/a><\/strong> said about VanVleet according to Holden Walter-Warner of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/hoopshabit.com\/2020\/02\/02\/toronto-raptors-will-fred-vanvleet-be-an-all-star-one-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hoops Habit<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019ll be an all-star one day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whether that happens or not is another question. However, after Lowry and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/siakapa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Pascal Siakam<\/strong><\/a>, VanVleet is the Raptors\u2019 third-best player. He is well on his way to becoming an NBA All-Star for the Raptors. It has been an incredible journey for VanVleet, who was undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n<p>VanVleet has played well in both the regular season and the playoffs.
