Adrian Wojnarowski of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ESPN <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported this news on Sunday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Los Angeles Lakers are in advanced talks with Oklahoma City on a trade for guard Dennis Schroder, sources tell ESPN. Deal expected to include OKC acquiring LA\u2019s pick at No. 28 in Wednesday\u2019s draft. This comes in the form of Thunder combo guard Schroder, who averaged 18.9 points and four assists per game last season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NBA\u2019s transaction window officially opens on Monday afternoon. According to Wojnarowski\u2019s sources, the Lakers intend to trade the player they select with the 28th overall pick in addition to <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/greenda02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Green<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the Thunder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the deal involving a draft selection, this pushes back the finalization of the deal to draft night. The NBA Draft is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schroder is one of the top guards in the league\u2019s current trade market. He has one year and $15.5 million left on his contract. According to the reports, this trade infers that Schroder intends to eventually re-sign with Los Angeles after next season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last season, Schroder finished second in the voting for Sixth Man of the Year. The combo guard has been vocal about returning to the starting lineup, after playing behind <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/paulch01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Paul<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/gilgesh01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/a><\/strong> in Oklahoma City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Lakers cannot trade its 2020 first-round selection to the Thunder because of a rule that restricts teams from trading first-round picks in consecutive years. Of course, if this trade is finalized, the Thunder will dictate who the Lakers select with the 28th pick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schroder fortifies the Lakers&#8217; backcourt. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/caldwke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kentavious Caldwell-Pope<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/carusal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Caruso<\/a><\/strong> are both under contract next season.
