Let\u2019s break down this series that was all Raptors from the start.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Series Recap: Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Recap<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto entered this series as heavy favorites and showed their dominance throughout. The Raptors outscored Brooklyn\u2019s replacement cast by at least 24 points in three of the four games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Raptors head coach Nick Nurse, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/2020\/08\/23\/nick-nurse-coach-of-the-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2020 NBA Coach of the Year<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and his squad used a barrage of three-pointers to take game one of this series. Toronto shot 22 of 44 from deep, including a 30 point performance from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/v\/vanvlfr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fred VanVleet<\/a><\/strong>. Toronto outscored the Nets 30-19 in the final frame, leading them to a 104-99 victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Raptors finished off the series with two blowouts in games three and four. Toronto\u2019s bench scored 100 points in Game Four, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/recap?gameId=401236264\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most in any game<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> since official starters began to be tracked in 1970-71. This historic 150-122 game four victory marked the first sweep in franchise history and the franchise record for points in a playoff game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Top Performers\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defending champs are lauded for their ability to play true team basketball. This series was no different. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In four games, Toronto had seven players average at least nine points per game. Of these seven, four Raptors provided the biggest difference in this series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VanVleet led Toronto in scoring and assists in round one, dropping in 21.3 points and 7.8 assists per game. The guard was incredible from deep, shooting almost 56 percent from three-point range throughout the series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As usual, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/siakapa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pascal Siakam<\/a><\/strong> stuffed his stat sheet with 20.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/i\/ibakase01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Serge Ibaka<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/powelno01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Norman Powell<\/a><\/strong> provided Toronto\u2019s biggest punch off the bench. The two combined for 38.8 points, 14.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Brooklyn, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/leverca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Caris LeVert<\/a> <\/strong>led the way for his team as he did throughout the bubble seeding games. The Michigan guard scored 20.3 points, 9.5 assists, and six rebounds per contest in four games.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/allenja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jarrett Allen<\/a> <\/strong>averaged a double-double in this series with 10.3 points and 14.8 rebounds per game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Something to Watch: Kyle Lowry\u2019s Injury\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto\u2019s first-round sweep was a near-perfect beginning to their quest to repeat as NBA champs. The biggest downside came in game four when <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lowryky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyle Lowry<\/a><\/strong> exited in the first quarter with an apparent ankle injury.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lowry did not return in Game Four and, as of today, has been <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/29731670\/toronto-raptors-guard-kyle-lowry-diagnosed-ankle-sprain\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">officially diagnosed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a left ankle sprain. His condition will continue to be updated in the coming days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite VanVleet\u2019s outstanding performance in round one, Lowry, a lead guard, is the focal point for Toronto\u2019s offense and defense. He averaged 19.4 points, 7.5 assists, and five rebounds in the regular season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Next Up\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Brooklyn Nets will head home from the NBA Disney Bubble with their focus on one thing only: the 2020-21 campaign. Brooklyn is eagerly awaiting the returns of their superstar talents in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/i\/irvinky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyrie Irving<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/duranke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Durant<\/a><\/strong>. The Nets will have some configuring to do with the budding talent of LeVert and a deep roster with names like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dinwisp01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spencer Dinwiddie<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jordade01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DeAndre Jordan<\/a><\/strong>, and Allen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Raptors move on for their Eastern Conference semifinals matchup with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/boston-celtics\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Celtics<\/a>. Boston also looked dominant in their first-round sweep over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/philadelphia-76ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>.
