Teams will begin scrimmage play in less than three weeks, and the first official games will tip-off on July 30th. The league&#8217;s landscape, however, is very different than it was in March. Several players have already decided to opt-out of the Orlando bubble or will be unavailable due to injury. This changes the outlook of favorites in the top ten power rankings.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Top Ten Power Rankings\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>10. Philadelphia 76ers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/philadelphia-76ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> have not seen any players choose to opt-out yet. They&#8217;re also only without <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/smithzh01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zhaire Smith<\/a><\/strong> due to injury. With this being said, they have underperformed this season.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/horfoal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Al Horford<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>has been a disappointing addition, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/embiijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joel Embiid<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/simmobe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Simmons<\/a><\/strong> still lack great chemistry. The talent is definitely there for a run, however.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>9. Dallas Mavericks\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/dallas-mavericks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dallas Mavericks<\/a> will be without <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/brunsja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jalen Brunson<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/leeco01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Courtney Lee<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/poweldw01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dwight Powell<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>due to injury.\u00a0Center\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/caulewi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Willie Cauley-Stein<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>chose to opt-out.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/burketr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trey Burke<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was signed to replace Brunson. It&#8217;s a solid addition, but nothing to move the Mavericks up the rankings. Cauley-Stein&#8217;s decision also leaves the Mavericks with thin frontcourt depth. With all that being said, however, the emerging duo of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/doncilu01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Luka Doncic<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/porzikr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kristaps Porzingis<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>will be tough to stop and enough to keep the Mavs in the top 10 power rankings.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>8. Miami Heat<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Miami Heat should be healthy and loaded. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/butleji01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jimmy Butler<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>has been a great leader, and the young stars like\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/adebaba01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bam Adebayo<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/n\/nunnke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kendrick Nunn<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>have stepped up this season. The play of veterans like\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dragigo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Goran Dragic<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/i\/iguodan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andre Iguodala<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>could decide the team&#8217;s fate.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>7. Houston Rockets<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/houston-rockets\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Houston Rockets<\/a> made a real commitment to &#8220;small ball.&#8221; Releasing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/harteis01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Isaiah Hartenstein<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was a further indicator. So far, however, they&#8217;ve remained a legitimate contender.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hardeja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James Harden<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/westbru01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russell Westbrook<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>will be playing with their legacies on the line.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>6. Denver Nuggets<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/denver-nuggets\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Denver Nuggets<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/29388278\/sources-nuggets-close-facility-due-coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">have reported<\/a> a few positive cases of COVID-19, including star\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jokicni01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nikola Jokic<\/a><\/strong>. If recoveries go smoothly, then the Nuggets are primed for a run. They&#8217;re a deep team and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/portemi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Porter Jr.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>will be an x-factor.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>5. Boston Celtics<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/boston-celtics\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Celtics<\/a> are healthy and ready to go. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/t\/tatumja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jayson Tatum<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>will be relied upon to continue his great form.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/walkeke02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kemba Walker<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>finally gets his chance at a real playoff run. Boston is a real contender.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>4. Toronto Raptors<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/toronto-raptors\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toronto Raptors<\/a> have not missed a beat without <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/leonaka01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kawhi Leonard<\/a><\/strong> this season, as seen in their high placement in the top 10 power rankings. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/siakapa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pascal Siakam<\/a><\/strong> has become a legitimate star, in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lowryky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyle Lowry<\/a><\/strong> is still elite. Their depth will be difficult to deal with.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3. Los Angeles Clippers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/los-angeles-clippers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> look like the most complete team on paper. Adding <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/morrima03.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Morris<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jacksre01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reggie Jackson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>only made the rich even richer. The team is a defensive nightmare, and Leonard and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/georgpa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paul George<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>are one of the best duos in basketball.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>2. Los Angeles Lakers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bradlav01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Avery Bradley<\/a><\/strong> opted out, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/los-angeles-lakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> will now have<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/smithjr01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0<strong>J.R. Smith <\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/waitedi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dion Waiters<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>If the Lakers can keep the rest of their roster intact then they are a real favorite behind the NBA&#8217;s best duo in\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LeBron James<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/davisan02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Davis<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>1. Milwaukee Bucks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/milwaukee-bucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> earn the top spot here after finishing with the best regular-season record. The team, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbay.com\/2020\/07\/05\/report-milwaukee-bucks-shut-down-team-practice-facility-after-receiving-coronavirus-test-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shut down<\/a> their practice facility due to COVID-19 results.
