The 10-9 Knicks won three of\u00a0their five post-Thanksgiving matchups, while the 5-14 Nets dropped four their five clashes during the past week.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>New York Basketball Weekly Recap<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Brooklyn Nets<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ironically, the one victory for the Nets over the past week came against the<strong> Los Angeles Clippers<\/strong>, who subsequently thrashed the NBA champion <strong>Cleveland Cavaliers<\/strong> on their home court. However, the win over Los Angeles was an aberration for Brooklyn, which has lost nine of its last ten games.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On November 25th, the Nets traveled to <strong>Indianapolis<\/strong> to face the <strong>Pacers<\/strong>, dropping a 118-97 contest. Two nights later, Brooklyn watched <strong>Sacramento<\/strong>\u2019s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/couside01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DeMarcus Cousins<\/a><\/strong> put up 37 points and haul down 11 rebounds in the <strong>Kings<\/strong>\u2019 122-105 win.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That Nets win over the Clippers didn\u2019t come easy, lasting two overtimes before coming away with a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/recap\/_\/id\/400899711\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">127-122 win<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A furious fourth quarter rally aided Brooklyn, which trailed by 18 with two minutes left in the third period. The rally was sparked by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kilpase01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sean Kilpatrick<\/a><\/strong>, who scored all but seven of his 38 points in the fourth quarter and overtime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That euphoria didn\u2019t last long when <strong>Milwaukee<\/strong> came to town and walked away with a 111-93 victory. A third quarter run helped the Bucks win and gave <a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kiddja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jason Kidd<\/a> another triumph against his old team. Two days later, the Nets fell again to the Bucks, keeping the game close until the final few minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the next week, the Nets now return home to face the <strong>Washington Wizards<\/strong> and <strong>Denver Nuggets<\/strong>. These are winnable games against teams with a collective record of 13-22.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>New York Knicks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the Knicks, their three wins were sandwiched around a pair of defeats. An overtime thriller on November 25th against the <strong>Charlotte Hornets<\/strong> ended up in a 113-111 New York victory. The following night, Charlotte managed to emerge with a 107-102 win over the Knicks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Monday night, New York fell at home, 112-103, to <strong>Oklahoma City<\/strong>. That was in spite of 30 points from<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/rosede01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derrick Rose<\/a><\/strong>, who was overshadowed by <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/rukkus.com\/blog\/nba-mvp-candidates\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MVP candidate <\/span><\/a><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/westbru01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russell Westbrook<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> third consecutive triple-double of 27 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two nights later, the Knicks managed to win <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/recap\/_\/id\/400899721\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">106-104<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over the <strong>Timberwolves<\/strong>, despite another monster performance by an opposing player. This one came from <strong>Minnesota<\/strong>\u2019s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/t\/townska01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a><\/strong>, who tallied 47 points and 18 rebounds, but <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/anthoca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carmelo Anthony<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s basket with 2.3 seconds left won it. New York also defeated Minnesota back at\u00a0<strong>The Garden<\/strong> on Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A busy schedule is on tap for New York, beginning with a home game against Sacramento\u00a0later today.
