McLeod grew up in Strongsville, Ohio, which is a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. He started with the Cavaliers&#8217; organization in the 2006-07 season alongside longtime analyst and former Cleveland Cavalier player <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/carrau01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Austin Carr<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These two had remarkable chemistry. It was a perfect pairing of on-air talent, again because of their passion for Cavaliers&#8217; basketball.<\/p>\n<p>When McLeod joined the Cavaliers, they were just starting their peak of the first <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LeBron James<\/a><\/strong> run. He was able to witness, in person, the remarkable display James put on in the Eastern Conference finals that year. Also, it came against the team he used to call games for, the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/detroit-pistons\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Detroit Pistons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of James bolting for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/miami-heat\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miami Heat<\/a>, McLeod had to trudge through the darkest of days in Cavaliers&#8217; basketball history, never wavering in his love for the franchise.<\/p>\n<p>It paid off when the Cavaliers started their rebuild. He witnessed a young\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/i\/irvinky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyrie Irving<\/a><\/strong> put on splendid displays. The excitement level in his voice had an obvious increase. James then returned and the Cavaliers went on a dominant four-year stretch. McLeod was there for it all.
