Wilson Chandler<\/a><\/strong> of the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> has been suspended for 25 games by the NBA for testing positive for PED use. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported that Chandler was facing a 25 game suspension. The NBA then confirmed their decision to suspend Chandler shortly after.<\/p>\n

NBA Suspends Wilson Chandler for PED Use<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chandler signed a veteran minimum contract with the Brooklyn Nets this off-season worth $2.56 million. The 25-game suspension will cause him to forfeit $582,898 in total salary. It will also open up minutes for other players on the Nets roster such as David Nwaba<\/a><\/strong>, Theo Pinson<\/a><\/strong>, Rodions Kurucs<\/a><\/strong>, and Dzanan Musa<\/a><\/strong>. Perhaps the Nets may consider signing another scoring forward in Carmelo Anthony<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chandler was the 23rd pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks<\/a>. He showed promise as a versatile scoring wing for the Knicks, averaging 16.4 points per game in his final half-season. He was traded<\/a> to the Denver Nuggets<\/a> for Carmelo Anthony in 2011 along with Raymond Felton<\/a><\/strong>, Danilo Gallinari<\/a><\/strong>, and Timofey Mozgov<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Chandler had some great performances for the Nuggets but often fell victim to injury.\u00a0 He played only eight games in the 2011-12 NBA season thanks to a labral tear in his left hip. In addition, he sat out the entire 2014-15 NBA season due to a labral tear in his right hip. Chandler’s inability to stay on the floor contributed to him being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> in 2018 off-season. He finished the year with the Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> where he only averaged 4.3 points in 15 games played.<\/p>\n

Suspensions for PED use is rare in the NBA, but not unheard of. Chandler will be eligible to return to the NBA on Dec. 15th.<\/p>\n
