Minnesota Timberwolves<\/strong>\u00a0expect point guard\u00a0Ricky Rubio<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will return Saturday night against the\u00a0Los Angeles Clippers,<\/strong> according to coach Tom Thibodeau. Rubio was ruled out indefinitely<\/a> after spraining his elbow against the Sacramento Kings<\/strong> in their second game of the season.<\/p>\n

Ricky Rubio Will Return Saturday<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In Rubio’s absence, Kris Dunn<\/strong><\/a> and Tyus Jones<\/strong><\/a> have filled the void, albeit with much to be desired. Dunn has started each of the last five games averaging 4.4 points and 4.6 assists in 24 minutes per game. While Jones has averaged 6.4 points and 4.6 assists per game in 23.4 minutes off the bench.<\/p>\n

The return of Rubio will be a welcome sight for the Timberwolves. As they have gone 2-3 without him and\u00a0have given up an average of 104 points per game. Minnesota will be hoping that the Rubio will be able to open up the offense due to his playmaking abilities.<\/p>\n

Minnesota’s upcoming game against the Clippers marks the start of a four game home stand, where the Timberwolves are\u00a0hoping to improve on their disappointing 2-5 record to start the season.<\/p>\n
