At first, there was relatively little movement in the hours leading up to the draft. Then suddenly, NBA Trade Judgement Day was upon us. In total, 17 trades took place on NBA Draft night!<\/p>\n<h1><strong>First Round NBA Draft Trades Recap<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h3><strong>Pelicans Trade Fourth Pick To Hawks For Eighth, 17th, and 35th<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/new-orleans-pelicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Orleans Pelicans<\/a> received the fourth pick from the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/los-angeles-lakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/davisan02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Davis<\/a><\/strong> trade. They elected to deal that to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/atlanta-hawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlanta Hawks<\/a> for the rights to two first round picks and one second-rounder. The Hawks acquired the 57th pick, a future second-rounder, and the contract of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hillso01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Solomon Hill<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Pelicans were desperately trying to unload his deal.<\/p>\n<p>The Atlanta Hawks selected <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/05\/23\/deandre-hunter-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>De&#8217;Andre Hunter<\/strong><\/a> with the fourth pick, while the Pelicans selected <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/06\/01\/jaxson-hayes-nba-draft-player-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jaxson Hayes<\/strong><\/a> with the eighth pick.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/05\/30\/nickeil-alexander-walker-nba-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Nickeil Alexander-Walker<\/strong><\/a> was selected with the 17th pick. The Hawks also sent the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/golden-state-warriors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Golden State Warriors<\/a> the number 41 pick for a 2024 second round pick and cash considerations.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>NBA Draft Trades: Sixers Trade Two Picks To Celtics For Matisse Thybulle<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/philadelphia-76ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> have agreed to trade the 24th and 32nd picks of the draft to the Boston Celtics for the rights to the 20th pick. The Boston Celtics took <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/06\/07\/matisse-thybulle-nba-draft-player-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Matisse Thybulle<\/strong><\/a> with the 20th pick, who is en route to Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>Matisse Thybulle will add a defensive force to a Philadelphia squad that already boasts the defensive versatility of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/embiijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joel Embiid<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/simmobe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Simmons<\/a><\/strong>. He wasn&#8217;t a knockdown shooter in college (30.5 percent on threes, 41.5 percent from the field), so he will have to expand his game to mesh with their stars. Still, Thybulle can provide the 76ers with a valuable defensive resource on the wing.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>NBA Draft Trades: Phoenix Dumps Contracts And Acquires 24th Pick From Celtics<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/phoenix-suns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Phoenix Suns<\/a> were making moves. First, they traded away <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/warretj01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">T.J. Warren<\/a><\/strong> and the number 32 pick to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/indiana-pacers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indiana Pacers<\/a> for cash considerations. Then, they dealt the rights to the number six pick to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/minnesota-timberwolves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/saricda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dario Saric<\/a><\/strong> and the rights to the number eleven pick. <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/05\/28\/jarrett-culver-can-be-as-impactful-as-joe-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jarrett Culver<\/strong><\/a> was selected with the sixth pick while <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/06\/07\/cameron-johnson-nba-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Cameron Johnson<\/strong><\/a> was selected with the eleventh.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the trade between the Sixers and Celtics, the Boston Celtics traded the rights of the 24th pick to the Phoenix Suns. <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/06\/05\/ty-jerome-nba-draft-player-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ty Jerome<\/strong><\/a> was selected with the 24th pick. Ty Jerome should fill a positional need for the Suns at point guard. The Suns also acquired Celtics center <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/baynear01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aron Baynes<\/a><\/strong> as part of the trade. The Celtics received a 2020 first rounder via the Milwaukee Bucks in this deal.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder Swap Picks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/oklahoma-city-thunder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a> traded the number 21 pick to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/memphis-grizzlies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> for the number 23 pick. The Grizzlies selected <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/05\/29\/brandon-clarke-nba-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Brandon Clarke<\/strong><\/a> 21st overall while the Thunder selected Darius Bazeley.<\/p>\n<p>Bazeley&#8217;s selection came as a surprise to many. The former Syracuse recruit sat out all of the 2018-19 season. He intended on signing with the NBA G-League but opted to take the year off after some discouraging workouts. This is a high-risk choice for the Thunder, but they obviously see something in him.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers Swap Picks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/brooklyn-nets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Brooklyn Nets<\/a> traded the number 27 pick to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/los-angeles-clippers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> for a 2020 first round pick and the rights to the 56th pick. The 2020 first rounder comes via the Philadelphia 76ers. The Clippers selected <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/05\/23\/mfiondu-kabengele-nba-player-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Mfiondu Kabengele<\/strong><\/a> with the 27th pick. Kabengele is a Center from Florida State who has some shooting ability and shot blocking skills but needs to add much more to his game.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Milwaukee Bucks Trade 30th Pick To Cleveland Cavaliers<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/milwaukee-bucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> selected <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/porteke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Porter Jr.<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with the 30th and final pick of the first round. The pick was sent to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/cleveland-cavaliers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>. Cleveland acquired the rights to the 30th pick from Detroit for four second-round picks.\u00a0 Kevin Porter Jr. is considered a promising one-on-one scorer but dealt with health issues at the University of Southern California.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Second Round NBA Draft Trades<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Miami Heat Trade Up To 32nd Pick<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/miami-heat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miami Heat<\/a> moved up in the draft to select <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/06\/20\/2019-nba-draft-profile-kz-okpala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>KZ Okpala<\/strong><\/a>. The Indiana Pacers had the rights to this pick from their trade with the Phoenix Suns. Okpala is a high-upside shot creator whose combination of length and athleticism enticed the Heat.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Dallas Mavericks Trade 37th Pick To Detroit Pistons<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/dallas-mavericks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dallas Mavericks<\/a> traded the 37th pick in the draft to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/detroit-pistons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Pistons<\/a> for the 45th pick and two future second rounders. The Dallas Mavericks selected Deividas Sirvydis from Lithuania for the Pistons. Detroit ended up selecting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/isaiah-roby-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Isaiah Roby<\/strong><\/a> from the University of Nebraska. Roby is a skilled, well-balanced big who can drain threes but needs to gain muscle.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Los Angeles Lakers Acquire 46th Pick from Orlando Magic<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Los Angeles Lakers were looking to get into the NBA Draft after trading a bunch of picks away. They ended up striking a deal with the Orlando Magic for the rights to the 46th pick. They selected <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/talen-horton-tucker-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Talen-Horton Tucker<\/a><\/strong> from Iowa State with their pick. Tucker is a 6&#8217;4 guard with an imposing 7&#8217;2 wingspan.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Golden State Warriors 39th and 41st Pick In Separate Transactions.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The New Orleans Pelicans selected\u00a0Alen Smailagic with the 39th pick of the draft. The Serbian sharpshooter now lands with the Golden State Warriors for cash considerations. Smailagic last played for the Warrior&#8217;s G-League affiliate so they&#8217;re familiar with what he can bring to a team. The Warriors also acquired number 41 pick <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/eric-paschall-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Paschall<\/a><\/strong> for cash considerations and a 2024 second round pick.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sixers Trade Admiral Schofield (42nd Pick) and Jonathan Simmons To Washington Wizards<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Philadelphia 76ers traded the rights to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/admiral-schofield-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Admiral Schofield<\/a> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/simmojo02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathon Simmons<\/a><\/strong> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/washington-wizards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Wizards<\/a> for cash considerations. Admiral Schofield is viewed as a high-floor big man who impressed many teams in his draft workouts.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Miami Heat Trade Rights To Bol Bol to the Denver Nuggets<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Cheers erupted when <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/06\/04\/bol-bol-nba-draft-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Bol Bol<\/strong><\/a> was selected by the Miami Heat with the 44th pick. Bol&#8217;s Heat career was short lived as he was quickly traded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/denver-nuggets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Denver Nuggets<\/a>. Miami received a future second-round pick and cash considerations. Bol Bol is a polarizing prospect with a 7&#8217;2 skeleton-thin body. He could be a force in the league if he keeps developing and stays healthy.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Knicks Acquire Rights To 47 Pick For 55th Pick and Cash Considerations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/new-york-knicks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Knicks<\/a> acquired the rights to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/ignas-brazdeikis-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ignas Brazdeikis<\/a><\/strong>. Brazdeikis is a 6&#8217;6 Lithuanian sharpshooter who last played for the Michigan Wolverines.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Utah Jazz Acquire Rights To 50th Pick From Indiana for Future Second Round Pick<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/utah-jazz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Utah Jazz<\/a> acquired the rights to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/jarrell-brantley-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jarrell Brantley<\/strong><\/a> from the Indiana Pacers. Brantley was selected with the 50th pick of the draft.
