He is the third head coach to come directly from <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/milwaukee-bucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Milwaukee Bucks&#8217; <\/a>head coach\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/coaches\/budenmi99c.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Buldenholzer&#8217;s<\/a> coaching staff. While this may be many fans&#8217; first time hearing of Jenkins,\u00a0 he has quietly built a strong resume over the course of his career.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Taylor Jenkins&#8217; Resume<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jenkins NBA coaching career started in 2007. He spent several years on the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/san-antonio-spurs\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> San Antonio Spurs<\/a> coaching staff. Then, he became the\u00a0head coach of the Austin Toros, which is the Spurs&#8217; G-League affiliate. Following his time in San Antonio, Jenkins joined Mike Budenholzer\u2018s staff as an assistant on the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/atlanta-hawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlanta Hawks<\/a> from the 2013 to 2018 season. The Hawks made four straight post-season appearances under Jenkins and Budenholzer. A year later, he made the move to Milwaukee. Once again, he was working under Budenholzer. The Bucks had a tremendous season, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. Also, in the first-round matchup against the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprobasketball.com\/nba-teams\/detroit-pistons\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Detroit Pistons<\/a>, Jenkins made sure the bench didn&#8217;t get involved in a scuffle.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What The Hire Means For The Grizzlies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Grizzlies are steering in the right direction for the franchise. They already have secured the number two pick in the 2019 NBA draft. They are rumored to select Murray State&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/temetrius-morant-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ja<\/strong> <strong>Morant<\/strong><\/a>. Also, they look to have veteran guard <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/conlemi01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Conley<\/a><\/strong> to mentor him.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, they need the right coach to keep the prospects and veterans in unison. Jenkins seems to be a good hire.
