Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a> that multiple sources close to Edwards dismissed the noise and described Minnesota as an \u201cideal\u201d place for him. <\/span>Kendrick Perkins<\/span><\/a> said on ESPN\u2019s First Take<\/span><\/a> that he made calls Tuesday morning and came away with the same understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m coming on here as a reporter, and I\u2019m telling you that Anthony Edwards is happy,\u201d Perkins said. \u201cI\u2019m telling you right now, he has the belief in <\/span>Jaden McDaniels<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Naz Reid<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Ayo Dosunmu<\/span><\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

That does not end every future question about Edwards and the Timberwolves. It does, however, undermine the idea that one trade suddenly put the franchise in immediate danger by losing its best player.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Pushback Matters For Minnesota<\/span><\/h3>\n

The key detail from Hine\u2019s reporting was not just that the chatter was dismissed. It was how strongly it was dismissed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOne said there was no truth to any of it,\u201d Hine wrote. Another source, according to Hine, said Edwards and his team view Minnesota and the Timberwolves as the \u201cideal\u201d situation.<\/span><\/p>\n

That matters because the Timberwolves are not trying to calm random outside noise. They are trying to navigate an offseason that already carries pressure after moving Randle and reshaping the roster around Anthony Edwards, McDaniels, Reid, and Dosunmu. If there were real concern inside Edwards\u2019 camp, this would be the moment for those signs to surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, the reporting pointed the other way.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perkins added another detail that fits Minnesota\u2019s internal case for keeping Edwards comfortable. He said Edwards believes in the group already in the locker room and wants to see that core continue growing together. \u201cThis is how he wants to rock,\u201d Perkins said, a line that suggests the Timberwolves\u2019 younger core still has real buy-in from the star at the center of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

None of that means the Timberwolves are free from pressure. They are not.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Minnesota stalls over the next few years, frustration could eventually become part of the story. That is true for almost every franchise with a superstar in his prime. But that is not the same as saying the situation has already reached that point.<\/span><\/p>\n
