Dallas Mavericks fans have endured legalized torture for the majority of the NBA season. At least Cooper Flagg<\/a> has been pretty damn fun to watch.<\/p>\n

Despite bad results, he has yet to hang his head (or throw a tantrum at a referee). He’s picked up his fair share of headlines along the way, as well as some great records. On December 15th 2025, six days before his 19th birthday, Flagg became the only 18-year-old to breach the 40-point mark with a 42-point performance<\/a> against the Jazz. He’s also scored most points as a teenager, dropping 49 on the Charlotte Hornets in January. And just last week, Flagg overtook Kobe Bryant<\/a> for the most 20-point games by a teenager.<\/p>\n

So, how many records are left for Flagg to break?<\/p>\n

3 Records That Cooper Flagg Can Still Decimate This Season<\/h2>\n

Most PPG by a Mavericks Rookie<\/h3>\n

As far as clubhouse records go, Flagg is doing well. He’s scored the most points (23) in a quarter, most field goals (20) in a game, and was the fastest to reach 1,000 points—all Dallas rookie records. Unsurprisingly, the PPG record is held by former talisman Luka Doncic<\/a>, set at 21.2 PPG.<\/p>\n

With Cooper currently averaging 20.1 points, and with 11 games left in the season, it will take an average of 27.7 points in the final stretch of the season to beat the record by a single decimal point. It may seem like a daunting task, but with games against the struggling Warriors, Trail Blazers, Bucks and Bulls still to come, there are ample opportunities for high-scoring games to offset his quiet on-court affairs.<\/p>\n

First Teenager to Score 50 Points in a Game<\/h3>\n

No teenager has ever scored 50 points in an NBA game. Flagg is the closest there has ever been with his aforementioned 49-point outing against the Hornets. We know he has it in him. It’s a mixed schedule to see out the year, but Coop can hang with the big boys.<\/p>\n

For a generational talent like him, it would be a crowning moment. It would also solidify his case for Rookie of the Year<\/a>. Flagg will still have time to break this record next year, but there is no time like the present. It’s not time for “Wilt<\/a>, Cooper, Bam<\/a>, Kobe” yet, but this would be a good start.<\/p>\n

Most 25\/8\/5 Games by a Mavericks Rookie<\/h3>\n

Currently tied with Luka Doncic on four, Flagg needs one more 25-point, 8-assist, and 5-rebound game to officially hold this record. Accolades are vital in the NBA from a marketing standpoint. It’s likely the Mavericks owners will be leaning heavily on coach Jason Kidd to push Flagg towards ROTY and erase some of Luka’s records.<\/p>\n

Flagg’s usage and minutes likely won’t drop toward the end of the season, so it’s very feasible to see him tackle this benchmark. He is set to cement himself as Dallas’ ultimate golden boy, just like Dirk Nowitzki<\/a> and Luka Doncic before him.<\/p>\n
