Now, the Warriors are projected to be the 10th seed, meaning that they will have to win two road games to make the NBA playoffs.

Will Injuries Sink The Warriors’ Slim Playoff Hopes?

Golden State enters the stretch run in arguably the worst form of the season. The Warriors dropped their fourth straight game, falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-117 last night. The Warriors have the ninth-worst record during this stretch, as they have struggled on the offensive end, averaging just 112.4 points per game and being outscored by nearly 4.5 points per game.

The Warriors sit in ninth place in the Western Conference at 32-34. While the Warriors have a 99% chance of making the conference Play-In Tournament, they are only one-half game ahead of the 10th-place Portland Trail Blazers. Curry, who last played on January 30, will miss his 17th straight game versus the Knicks. He is expected to be out at least another week, though it would be a surprise if he plays at all during the current road trip.

Moody will sit out his sixth straight contest tomorrow night due to a wrist injury. The good news is that the 23-year-old is on the trip with the team. However, he is also unlikely to play Monday night against the Wizards, and Tuesday will be two weeks since the injury. Green will be sitting out his second consecutive game, though he has been dealing with the back issue for a while.

Horford figures to be out at least a week, if his calf sprain is a Grade I. But if it is of the Grade II variety, the 39-year-old may not play the rest of the season. He owns career averages of 5.0 points on 53.5% shooting from the field, 4.6 rebounds (1.5 offensive boards), and 1.3 blocks.

Yurtseven went undrafted out of Georgetown in 2020. The 27-year-0ld, who was born in Turkey, started his career with Fenerbahce before moving on to North Carolina State for two seasons. He played one season at Georgetown.

Yurtseven began his professional career with the Oklahoma City G League club OKC Blue. Yurstsever signed his first NBA contract with the Miami Heat in the spring of 2021. He spent two seasons with the Heat before signing with the Utah Jazz, spending a single year with the franchise.

After being released by Utah on June 30, 2024, Yurtseven returned to Europe, signing a multi-year deal with Greek club Panathinaikos. Yurtseven was highly productive with Panathinaikos, though he saw only 14 minutes per contest before leaving for the G League with the Maine Red Claws (Boston Celtics), making a successful claim on March 4. Maine immediately dealt Yurtseven to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets affiliate).

Yurtseven was dominant in his three games with RGV before signing the deal with Golden State. He totaled 69 points along with 40 rebounds (16 offensive) and seven blocks with the Vipers.

Yurtseven is a big-bodied physical presence at 7 feet and 265 pounds, a reliable rebounder. He does an outstanding job at boxing out on the defensive end and excels on the offensive glass. He is a capable roller off screens, able to finish around the rim.

Yurtseven figures to see sometime with the Warriors during these 10 days. With all the Dubs injuries, Yurtseven is the only true center behind Post. Gui Santos and Malvey Leons, who are on a two-way contract, are the only other healthy bigs.

Earlier this season, the Golden State Warriors had hopes of earning a top-6 seed in the Western Conference.
