The 6\u20195\u201d junior has become a breakout story of the college basketball season, with his two-way athleticism carrying him toward a potential first-round selection.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-sheets-root=\"1\">Cameron Carr 2026 NBA Draft Profile<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: 800px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBXghjfbUi\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4000px; aspect-ratio: 4000\/2772;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<h3>College Career<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carr\u2019s career began with an underwhelming two-year stint at the University of Tennessee, where he averaged 2.3 points across 18 career games and missed a majority of his sophomore year due to a thumb injury. The 6\u20195\u201d guard wastes no time elevating for dunks and does a surprisingly good job of absorbing contact on drives, averaging a career-best 5.1 free-throw attempts per game. As for his perimeter shooting, Carr has torched defenses in a variety of situations, <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nba\/draft\/newsfeed\/nba-draft-scouting-report-baylor-wing-cameron-carr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">succeeding off the catch and off the dribble<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and not shying away from the occasional heat checks. His agility allows him to be a blur around the court, moving well off the ball and effectively getting to his spots as an elite three-level scorer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carr has also consistently improved as a playmaker, rightfully drawing so much attention and finding his open teammates as a result. He\u2019s <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.noceilingsnba.com\/p\/a-scouts-take-cameron-carrs-breakout\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">made solid reads<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the half-court and in transition that keep the Bears offense flowing, his speed and smarts working hand in hand.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Defense<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The aforementioned athleticism along with a <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DRdPCGPDfSy\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">near 7\u20192\u201d wingspan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have significantly aided Carr\u2019s defense. He\u2019s an emphatic shot-blocker with 41 swats on the season (good for <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/big12sports.com\/stats.aspx?path=mbball&amp;year=2025\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11th in the Big 12<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and has active hands that have contributed to 26 steals so far (0.9 per game). His speed allows him to keep up with opponents who dare to drive toward the rim or think they can stop for a pull-up jumper.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Weaknesses<\/h3>\n<h4>Offense<\/h4>\n<p><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.babcockhoops.com\/post\/2026-nba-draft-cameron-carr-scouting-report\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carr<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s high-octane offense comes with a few blemishes, primarily related to his shot selection, playmaking and ball security. He shouldn\u2019t expect to take as many deep threes in the league as he does at Baylor, and thus should improve on connecting plays as a passer more often. Additionally, Carr\u2019s 2.7 assists per game come with 2.3 turnovers, making his ball handling another point of emphasis going forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Defense<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carr\u2019s nimble 190-pound frame may turn out to be a double-edged sword as he gears up for the NBA level. While he\u2019s shown a willingness to take contact on the defensive end, he\u2019ll need to <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_pKS2qW-bCk?si=MvdCcFdNjSmNdh3r&amp;t=516\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">develop his frame<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to have a better chance of stopping opponents who could easily brush him off or blow by him on drives.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>NBA Comparison<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carr\u2019s athleticism and 3-and-D potential remind of New Orleans Pelicans wing <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/murphtr02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trey Murphy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who has torched NBA defenses with his efficient three-point shooting and <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/hashtagbasketball.com\/nba-draft\/content\/scouting-report-film-review-trey-murphy-iii#:~:text=Besides%20cutting%2C%20Murphy%20also%20used%20his%2038%2Dinch,will%20feast%20on%20leak%2Douts%20after%20contesting%20threes.\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">38-inch max vertical<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The fifth-year wing is currently averaging 22.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists on .475\/.378\/.892 splits while contributing 1.5 steals defensively.
