Who is the Chinese brand ANTA, and why could they be the Splash King’s next sneaker home?

After ending his long-term partnership with Under Armour, Curry has now entered sneaker free agency. One brand, in particular, is turning heads and could become the new home of the four-time NBA champion. China’s ANTA appears to be the front-runner, sending shockwaves through the NBA and sneaker world, leaving rivals like Nike and Under Armour watching closely. But where will Curry’s sneaker future take him beyond the Golden State Warriors?

Who Is ANTA? Could It Be Curry’s Next Sneaker Home?

Who Is ANTA?

ANTA is a Chinese sportswear company known for its footwear, apparel and athletic gear. Founded in 1991, it has quickly grown into one of the largest sports manufacturers in the world. While it may not receive the same recognition as Adidas or Nike in Western sneaker culture, ANTA has built a dominant presence in Asia. The brand continues to grow through strategic investment and athlete partnerships.

In 2007, ANTA made its first move into the NBA by partnering with former Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola. The brand then later strengthened its basketball presence in 2010 by signing Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett, marking a major step in its push toward global basketball relevance. ANTA has continued adding star power to its roster, securing a lifetime deal with Klay Thompson and even elevating Kyrie Irving to Chief Creative Officer in 2023.

Curry Turns Heads with ANTA Sneakers

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://lastwordonsports.com/basketball/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2026/02/USATSI_28124098_168402037_lowres-1024x683.jpg" alt="Jan 30, 2026; San Francisco, California, USA; A closeup view of the shoes worn by Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) against the Detroit Pistons in the first quarter at the Chase Center.
