The Timberwolves have targeted guard upgrades after losing Nickeil Alexander-Walker<\/a> in free agency last offseason. The Bulls held a surplus of guards after acquiring Anfernee Simons<\/a>, Jaden Ivey,<\/a> and Collin Sexton<\/a> over the past few days. Dosunmu is a pending restricted free agent.<\/p>\n

Why Minnesota Made the Move<\/h3>\n

The Bulls selected Ayo Dosunmu early in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. He helped fuel their fast start during the 2021\u201322 season before injuries derailed their playoff hopes.<\/p>\n

In 45 games this season, Dosunmu averages 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He shoots 45.1 percent from three. He is a strong shooter, handles the ball well, cuts actively, and defends multiple positions.<\/p>\n

Dosunmu offers a better two-way fit than Coby White<\/a> would have provided in Minnesota. The Timberwolves were linked to White throughout trade season before choosing Ayo Dosunmu. The Timberwolves also get to move on from their\u00a0now-infamous decision to trade up to draft<\/a> Rob Dillingham.<\/p>\n

Bulls Continue Deadline Overhaul<\/h3>\n

The Bulls have stayed aggressive ahead of the February 5 trade deadline. They have already traded White, Phillips, Nikola Vu\u010devi\u0107<\/a>, Dalen Terry<\/a>, Mike Conley,<\/a> Kevin Huerter<\/a>, and Dario \u0160ari\u0107.<\/a><\/p>\n
