However, his run to start the campaign proved he evolved into a dangerous threat from beyond the arc in both volume and efficiency.

Atlanta Hawks Guard Emerges As Atlanta’s Three-Point Specialist

Vít Krejčí Was Not Always A Shooter

Krejčí played three seasons with Zaragoza in the Liga ACB before his NBA career. His combination of length, ball handling, and passing at 6’8” made him an interesting prospect, though he only shot 5-16 from deep for his professional international career.

The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Krejčí with the 37th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Two years later, the Hawks traded for him, sending Maurice Harkless and draft compensation to Oklahoma City. Krejčí averaged just 5.7 minutes per game across 29 contests for the 2022-23 campaign. He splashed home just 37 3-pointers in his first two NBA campaigns combined. Months later, the Minnesota Timberwolves signed and waived Krejčí before the 2023-24 season. He then came back to the Hawks on a two-way contract, focusing on his development as a perimeter defender and outside shooter in the G League.

Krejčí started 14 out of 22 games played two seasons ago, averaging 6.1 points in 24.6 minutes per contest. At the time, his 1.3 three-pointers on 41.2% efficiency represented a career high, but he did not take enough outside shots for defenses to respect him as a volume shooter. This area served as an important step in Krejčí’s offensive development, and his work over the last two campaigns shows in the 2025-26 season.

Dec 5, 2025; Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Atlanta Hawks guard Vit Krejci (27) shoots over Denver Nuggets forward Zeke Nnaji (22) in the second quarter at State Farm Arena. However, when Trae Young sprained his MCL on Oct. 29, it opened up more minutes for the 25-year-old, and he stepped up when his number was called.

Through 20 games this season, Krejčí averages career-highs of 10.0 points, 6.9 field goal attempts, and 2.5 made 3-pointers on 45.5% efficiency. He takes 5.5 shots from beyond the arc per game. This number increased from last season by over two attempts. Krejčí has already taken at least seven triples and made at least three in eight games across the 2025-26 campaign.

During Atlanta’s five-game win streak, Krejčí put on one of the best shooting displays in NBA history. He knocked down 17 triples across three games on 73.9% efficiency. This red-hot stretch included the highest scoring performance of his career- 28 points with eight threes against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Vít Krejčí WENT OFF in Hollywood with 8 threes 🎬🔥

He had 8 threes on the entire season coming into tonight… 😳 pic.twitter.com/cMHiw87vGC

— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) November 11, 2025

Opposing teams now need to know where Krejčí is at all times.
