Feast week will see plenty of big games for teams from the Big East. Unquestionably, some of the major games have already proven to shake up this week’s Big East power rankings.

A lot of the typical powers of he conference have seen some early trouble that includes Marquette and Xavier. For a league that is typically tough, the Big East has some work to do. Let’s see where the teams stand in this week’s power rankings.

Big East Power Rankings: Typical Powers Having Early Struggles

1. UConn (5-1)

Despite falling short in a Top Five clash with the Arizona Wildcats, Dan Hurley’s squad is still atop the Big East power rankings. Silas Demary Jr was ready to help the Huskies rebound on Sunday. He recorded a triple-double to get UConn its fifth win. Also, they cruised to a 72-49 victory over Bryant, who made the NCAA Tournament last season. Luckily, they aren’t heading to any tournaments this coming week.

Up Next: Illinois (New York City), Friday, Nov 28th

2. Georgetown (5-0)

The Hoyas remained unbeaten, handling business against Wagner. Malik Mack had 18 points for Georgetown in the 92-75 victory. Now the Hoyas gear up for the Terry’s Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational down in Kissimmee, Florida. They will go up against the Dayton Flyers in the opening round of the Magic Bracket at that event.

Up Next: Dayton* (Kissimmee, FL), Thursday, Nov 27th, TBD*, Friday, Nov 28th

3. St. Johns (3-1)

The Red Storm had almost a whole week off this past week. When they returned to action on Friday night, they were more than ready for Bucknell. To be sure, it was a huge night for Rick Pitino’s team, as their 97-49 victory was the biggest blowout for the team under him. Bryce Hopkins finally had his best performance in almost two years, with 20 points on the night. This group will be tested further as they head to Las Vegas for the Players Era Festival.

Up Next: Iowa State*(Las Vegas), Monday Nov 24th, 3:30 pm, Baylor* (Las Vegas), Tuesday Nov 25th

4. Seton Hall (5-0)

Yet another surprising team thus far. The Pirates have played well and find themselves unbeaten. They have been handling business against less-than-spectacular opponents, but 5-0 is a good start for Seton Hall. They scored a 68-45 win over New Haven, as they prepared for their trip to the Maui Invitational.

Up Next: NC State* (Maui) Monday, Nov 24th, 1:30 pm, TBD* Tuesday, Nov 25th, TBD* Wednesday, Nov 26th

5. The Butler Bulldogs defeated the Chicago State Cougars, 98-66.

The Bulldogs bounced back quickly from a road loss at SMU, with a very productive weekend at the Greenbrier Tip-Off. It began on Friday, when they were able to score a nice 79-72 victory over the SEC’s South Carolina. Finley Bizjack continues to be the driving force for Butler. They also followed it up with an impressive 80-73 over the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday. That’s two very important wins for the Bulldogs.

Up Next: Wright State, Friday, Nov 28th

6. Creighton (3-1)

The Bluejays certainly got a big boost from Blake Harper in their lone game this past week. His 19 points helped lead the charge to a 75-60 victory over North Dakota. The competition gets tough this week, as Creighton heads to Las Vegas, with a pair of games on back-to-back days against teams from the Big 12.

Up Next: Baylor* (Las Vegas) Monday, Nov 24th, 1:00 pm, Iowa State* (Las Vegas) Tuesday, Nov 25th

7. Villanova (4-1)

The Wildcats continue to rack up wins since losing their opening game. Nova was able to get a road win at La Salle behind a 17-point performance from Matthew Hodge. This group certainly appears to be finding its footing thus far in the season.

Up Next: Old Dominion, Tuesday, Nov 25th

8. Providence (4-2)

It’s a little tough to judge the Friars. A pair of early losses against power teams certainly had them trending in the wrong direction. They have since rattled off back-to-back wins. The most recent came on Saturday at the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase. The Friars handed Penn State its first loss of the season. Stefan Vaaks scored 15 points as Providence used a dominant second half to get the win. The Friars head west to partake in the Rady Children’s Invitational.

Up Next: Wisconsin* (San Diego) Thursday, Nov 27th, TBD* (San Diego), Friday, Nov 28th

9. DePaul (4-2)

Another team not looking too good as of late, the Blue Demons did secure two wins this past week. The first was against Gardner-Webb, before they scored a 20-point win against Detroit-Mercy on Sunday. Something to build on, but DePaul is still not a contender in the Big East.

Up Next: Georgia Tech* (Destin, FL), Friday, Nov 28th, TBD* (Destin, FL) Saturday, Nov 29th

10. Xavier (4-3)

The Musketeers could easily hold the bottom spot on the Big East power rankings. Xavier has three losses already, and their one-point loss to Georgia on Friday certainly hurt. Regardless, they were able to turn it around on Sunday in their second game as part of the Charleston Classic. They handed West Virginia its first loss of the season.

Up Next: Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Friday, Nov 28th

11. Marquette (4-3)

Undoubtedly, what an ugly start to the season for Shaka Smart’s team. Marquette has been a perennial contender in the Big East, and an NCAA tournament team for that matter. That’s looking like a long way to climb for the Golden Eagles in 2025-26. Losing in overtime to Dayton had certainly knock the wind out of the sails for this team. However, they did recover with an 85-71 victory against Central Michigan, after a 27-point outing from Chase Ross. One thing is for sure: Marquette isn’t in a good place right now.

Up Next: Oklahoma (Chicago), Friday, Nov 28th

Featured Image: David Butler II-Imagn Images

It’s the part of the November slate when a number of the top teams head to neutral-site tournaments across the country and the Bahamas.
