Most, if not all, of the big summer decisions, have already been made and the major dealings have been done. Now we can look ahead to the season and how those decisions will affect each team and their division. Of course, you can\u2019t expect everything to change so suddenly, but you have to believe that the change is coming. We\u2019ll begin with the Eastern Conference Division Winners since it\u2019s the weaker of the two and its slowly becoming a wasteland in terms of star players.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>NBA Eastern Conference Division Winners: Predictions<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>*<em>all standings are for the 2017\/18 season.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Atlantic Division<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/toronto-raptors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toronto Raptors<\/a> (59-23) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/boston-celtics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Celtics<\/a> (55-27) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/philadelphia-76ers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> (52-30) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/new-york-knicks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Knicks<\/a> (29-53) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/brooklyn-nets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brooklyn Nets<\/a> (28-54)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Low<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019ll start in a division that seems to be becoming cut and dry, but not for who you might think. We&#8217;ll get to that. Unfortunately, the two teams from New York still don\u2019t seem to have much of a chance. The Nets\u2019 only worthwhile addition,\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/f\/farieke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kenneth Faried<\/a><\/b>\u00a0is flashy and powerful but won&#8217;t win you too many games. The Knicks impressed in Summer League with\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/knoxke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Knox<\/a><\/b>, but their only addition was\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hezonma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mario Hezonja<\/a><\/b>, who can be a bit of a selfish shooter. There isn\u2019t much of a debate when you think about it.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest storyline came north of the border when Toronto traded fan-favorite\u00a0<b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/derozde01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DeMar DeRozan<\/a><\/b>\u00a0to San Antonio in return for a still-not-100%\u00a0<b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/leonaka01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kawhi Leonard<\/a><\/b>\u00a0and the ever-consistent\u00a0<b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/greenda02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Green<\/a><\/b>, who sports a career line of 41.8\/39.5\/81.5 percentages from the field, three-point, and free throw respectively. The big concern is if Masai Ujuri just ruined the Raptors by trading for a Spurs outcast.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The High<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Celtics finished last season 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in the division, that&#8217;s without <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/haywago01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gordon Hayward<\/a><\/b>. He\u2019ll be ready for October, which means <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/i\/irvinky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyrie Irving<\/a> <\/b>won\u2019t have to carry the load as much. Hayward is a proven scorer, that is undeniable, but his career high of 21.9 PPG isn\u2019t eye-opening. Don\u2019t look for him to beat that, either. Irving&#8217;s also coming off a season that was cut short with injury. GM <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/aingeda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Danny Ainge<\/a> hasn\u2019t made any noteworthy additions, only re-signing <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/baynear01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aron Baynes<\/a><\/b> and defensive anchor <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/smartma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marcus Smart<\/a><\/b> (two-years $10.6 million &amp; 4-years $52 million, respectively).<\/p>\n<p>The most interesting case in this division is the resurgent Philadelphia 76ers. They won 52 games last season after winning 10 in 2015-16. The domination of <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/embiijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joel Embiid<\/a><\/b> plus the rise of Rookie of the Year <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/simmobe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Simmons<\/a><\/b> is only the beginning for this young team. They sent cash considerations to the Nuggets for <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/chandwi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wilson Chandler<\/a><\/b> and a 2<sup>nd<\/sup>-round pick, an absolute bargain, and re-signed <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/redicjj01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">J.J. Redick<\/a><\/b>\u00a0to a one-year $12.5 million deal. &#8220;The Process&#8221; is paying off and fans in Philly are going to be loving it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Division Winner<\/strong>: Philadelphia<\/p>\n<h1>Central Division<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/cleveland-cavaliers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> (50-32) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/indiana-pacers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indiana Pacers<\/a> (48-34) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/milwaukee-bucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> (44-38) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/detroit-pistons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Pistons<\/a> (39-43) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/chicago-bulls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Bulls<\/a> (27-55)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Low<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Cleveland is no longer the obvious choice. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LeBron James<\/a><\/strong> is LeGone, taking with him his line of 27\/9\/9 from last season and his 14 Win Shares. Take away the LBJ factor, and the Cavs only win 36 games. This is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/loveke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Love<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s team, whether he likes it or not. Recently signing a four-year $120 million extension, he\u2019s the big star now. First-round pick <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/sextoco01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Collin Sexton<\/a><\/strong> impressed during Summer League, but there\u2019s nothing more to go on. It might be a while before they can contend again.<\/p>\n<p>The Pistons and Bulls both seem to be on a decline, as Detroit thinks they can combat a 39-win season by signing\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/caldejo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jose Calderon<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/robingl02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Glenn Robinson III<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/pachuza01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zaza Pachulia<\/a><\/strong>. The only highlight here is that\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/drumman01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andre Drummond<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has been relentlessly working on his 3-point shot, so look for him to add another side to his already dominant game. Chicago&#8217;s off-season only consisted of re-signing\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lavinza01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach LaVine<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to $78 million and signing local\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/parkeja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jabari Parker<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for $40 million.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The High<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The two major intrigues are the Pacers and the Bucks.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/o\/oladivi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Victor Oladipo<\/a><\/strong> impressed everyone last season as Indiana\u2019s new star, snagging himself Most Improved Player in the process. They also signed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/mcderdo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doug McDermott<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 a career 43% shooter from beyond the arc \u2013 and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/evansty01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyreke Evans<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 who averaged 19\/5\/5 for the Grizzlies last season. Milwaukee, on the other hand, has perennial MVP candidate <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/antetgi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a><\/strong>. He\u2019s always improved his numbers from the year before; a scary thought now since he averaged 27\/10\/5 last season. Also coming in is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/i\/ilyaser01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ersan Ilyasova<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lopezbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brook Lopez<\/a><\/strong>, who will likely replace <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hensojo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Henson<\/a><\/strong> as starting C.<\/p>\n<p>This division should find a home in Wisconsin; have you seen how jacked Giannis is now?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Division Winner<\/strong>: Milwaukee<\/p>\n<h1>Southeast Division<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/miami-heat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miami Heat<\/a> (44-38) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/washington-wizards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Wizards<\/a> (43-39) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/charlotte-hornets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charlotte Hornets<\/a> (36-47) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/orlando-magic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Orlando Magic<\/a> (25-57) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonnba.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/nba-teams\/atlanta-hawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Atlanta Hawks<\/a> (24-58)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Low<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It might be hot in this corner of America, but the Heat won&#8217;t reign supreme for too long. Miami won the division last season but did it by only winning 44 games. They re-signed <b><\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jonesde02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derrick Jones Jr.<\/a><\/b>\u00a0along with <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/ellinwa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayne Ellington<\/a><\/b>, whose 11.2 PPG last season were a career high. <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/johnsty01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Johnson<\/a><\/b> is a capable scorer but overpaid, while <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/adebaba01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bam Adebayo<\/a><\/b> is not yet matured. <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dragigo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Goran Dragic<\/a><\/b> is inconsistent and <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/wadedw01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dwyane Wade<\/a><\/b> will not carry the team like he used to.<\/p>\n<p>For Atlanta, it\u2019s all about the rebuild and steady progress. Their most capable player, <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/s\/schrode01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dennis Schroder<\/a><\/b>, now lives in Oklahoma and was replaced by past-his-prime <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/linje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeremy Lin<\/a><\/b>. Lottery pick <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/y\/youngtr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trae Young<\/a><\/b> is now the franchise player for the Hawks, and their fans can only hope he lives up to the <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/c\/curryst01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stephen Curry<\/a><\/b> comparisons and performs how he did in college.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The High<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Orlando and Charlotte have a lot of upsides to be excited about for the first time in a long time. The Magic drafted <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bambamo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mohamed Bamba<\/a><\/b> with the 6<sup>th<\/sup> overall pick; enough potential by itself. <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/gordoaa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aaron Gordon<\/a><\/b> re-signed for $84 million over four years, who scored 17.6 PPG last season, smashing his previous high. He seems to be only coming into his prime now. The Hornets have potential out their noses. Along with sophomore guard <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/monkma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Malik Monk<\/a><\/b>, they\u2019re sporting college standouts <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bridgmi02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Miles Bridges<\/a><\/b> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/grahade01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Devonte&#8217; Graham<\/a><\/strong>. <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/parketo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tony Parker<\/a><\/b> should make an instant impact in the locker room. Furthermore, <b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/walkeke02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kemba Walker<\/a><\/b> is tired of losing seasons, so look for him to come out strong.<\/p>\n<p>The Wizards remain the strongest, losing out on the division title by only 1 game.
