A former McNeese State guard now joins forces with Will Wade at NC State. Following a promising injury update, will NC State’s offense improve?<\/p>\n

NC State Gets Promising Injury Update On Senior Transfer<\/h2>\n

This past year has been chaotic for NC State basketball. Hoping to build off a great 2023-24 season, which saw NC State reach the Final Four, the losses of DJ Horne<\/a> and D.J. Burns Jr.<\/a> proved to be too difficult for the Wolfpack to overcome. They fell back down to earth, finishing 12-19 and missing the ACC tournament. Promptly, Kevin Keatts was fired and finished his NC State tenure with three NCAA tournament appearances and a 151-113 record.<\/p>\n

Enter Will Wade. Despite an impressive track record with VCU and LSU and leading both schools to multiple NCAA tournament berths, Wade was fired in 2022 by LSU following recruiting violations. The following year, Wade was hired by McNeese State and did not disappoint.<\/p>\n

During his two seasons at McNeese State, Wade had an impressive 50-9 record but most importantly led the school to two NCAA tournaments and the first tournament win in school history<\/a>. Now, Will Wade will look to lead the NC State Wolfpack<\/a> back to the NCAA tournament.<\/p>\n

Promising scorer reunited with Will Wade this offseason<\/h3>\n

Alyn Breed<\/a> is entering his final year of eligibility with his third school, the NC State Wolfpack. After struggling to be a consistent starter at Providence, Breed transferred to McNeese State before the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n

Breed started strong at McNeese State, averaging 17.5 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in two games. While the sample size was small, Breed looked significantly improved and performed well against No. 2 Alabama. However, a knee injury cut his season short. Shortly after the season ended, Breed entered the transfer portal and ended up reuniting with Will Wade at NC State.<\/p>\n

Will Wade announced a promising injury update for Breed<\/h3>\n

Although Breed is still recovering from the knee injury that ended his past season, Will Wade gave a positive update on Breed’s current status.<\/p>\n
