Now, one legendary point guard thinks Doncic can carry that momentum into a season to remember with the Lakers.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Hall of Fame PG Has Bold Prediction for Lakers Superstar<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Tim Hardaway Sr. Picks Luka Doncic for MVP<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a Sept. 10 interview with the betting website Action Network, Hall of Famer <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hardati01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tim Hardaway Sr.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revealed Luka Doncic as his MVP pick, a selection that he says will \u201csurprise\u201d many people.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You know what? A lot of people are gonna be surprised. He actually should have probably won it one time, but I&#8217;m gonna go with Luka Doncic. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think that if he has a really, really good year. If he has a good year like he normally has and they end up in the upper echelons, 1-4 seed. Right around there. I think he has a really, really, really good chance of winning MVP.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe should have won it probably about two years ago. But he didn&#8217;t win it. He&#8217;s that talented. But he still gotta do other stuff.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hardaway Sr. also noted how Doncic\u2019s new frame will be pivotal toward a potential MVP campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cJust because you lose weight, he&#8217;s still gonna be the same Luka. This is not overseas. This is the NBA. You&#8217;re still gonna have to keep your feet in front of people. They are still gonna go at you. Just &#8217;cause you lost weight, they don&#8217;t believe that you could play defense now. You can move your feet now. You are as agile as you should be, and this and that. You&#8217;re still 6\u20198, you\u2019re still kinda slow. You still move at your own pace. Plus, his recent growth\u2014combined with his and the Lakers\u2019 hunger for success\u2014should set the Slovenian superstar up for an award-winning campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NBA.com writer Shaun Powell believes <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/news\/5-international-players-best-chance-at-mvp-2025-26\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doncic is the \u201cmost likely\u201d non-MVP winner<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to earn the trophy this coming season.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDon\u010di\u0107 is one of only a handful of players capable of averaging a triple-double, which by itself makes him a strong candidate. If he does that while leading the league in scoring or assists and winning 50 games?
